Intel or AMD

Long time intel guy here. I’m planning on building a new pc to replace my 9900k.

Growing up there was a running gag that if you had an AMD, your pc was going to catch fire or just catastrophically break

Is the 9800x3d really the king of the hill or is the echo chamber loud? Are the intel issues in the 13 and 14 gen that bad that it’s not a realistic long time purchase? My z390i had an 8700k and a 9900k and its been rock solid since 2018 (the i9 went in 2020)

Ive had many pcs and laptops and I built many as well and intel has never did me wrong. Looking for opinions from the experts.

When do I make the big bucks??

I’m about to hit 6 months in a junior service desk role. I’d like to think I’m good, not the best but good at my job for 6 months.

I make 57k, I know two long standing members (8 years) who make 74k, my seniors (4 years) make 84k and manager makes 94k (also employed for 4 years). I know this because of public pay scales.

The scales for where I work seem low, I wanted to abandon this job site in another year and a half and I’m hoping I can hit 70-80k with 2 years of experience under my belt

I’m looking for thoughts on the subject titles, I transitioned into IT at 35 and was making about 70k in an unrelated, dead end (and extremely chill) job before transitioning

For more context:

Currently in healthcare IT
I have my degree and quite a few certifications due to WGU

I read on here that 1 in 4 Torontonians earn over 100k

I can’t comprehend this. As someone whose browser auto completes the sunshine list URL, it doesn’t make sense that so many people earn this much.

I’ve been in two distinct careers, RNs earn a lot but they’re only required in sensitive areas of a hospital. I am now in IT and only the upper echelon’s of my IT department earn over 100k.

What career path in Toronto is generating these 1 in 4 Torontonians that earn 100k? So much so that these people are reinforcing the rhetoric that a quarter of our population is earning over 6 figures?
