Wanted to be helpful and offered to pitch in with an overworked colleague. They then decided to ditch to “go help with something else”.
I sighed finished up to a good stopping point and left because I already had a feeling.
Yep sure enough just chatting with the guys.
Fuck these people. And this is why no one bothers to be nice anymore.
My partner and I recently moved and joined a hobby group to make new friends. One we were both excited about has recently started to trouble me as they seem to be trying to get closer to my partner than me. (Texting only them for events, gossiping more to them, speaking more to them in person etc…)
They don’t really have anything in common (friend is crafty and my partner is a gamer and athletic), especially compared to me and the new friend (I’m crafty as well) so it seems odd that they seem keen on gravitating towards them and not me.
My partner has shown some concern as well but since they HAVEN’T done anything concrete (like send a flirty text), they don’t feel comfortable saying anything just yet.
I feel kind of hurt about it. Not sure what to do.
What could help this situation? Should I just ride it out?
Edit: Thanks for validating I’m not overreacting. My partner and I agreed to insist on group texts and them ignoring friends messages for a while and see how it goes.
