I started a rewatch. I'm up to episode 6 in season 5. Here are some thoughts.

I know many people don't like the first half of season 5 that much, but it does have some moments that are absolute gold.

Episode 1 when they are walking in formation (in fear of the "roaches") and Coulson says, "This is probably the coolest we've ever looked."

Episode 6 when Fitz finally arrives in the future and approaches Jemma and talks to her when her back is turned from him. That whole scene is a treasure.

The way his and her movements are "choreographed." Her facial expressions are perfect - they fit both scenarios. The first scenario, that she can hear him. The second scenario, that she can't hear him and she is just contemplating her situation.

Also, his superb delivery of that beautiful speech that ends in a proposal. And of course, Fitz chastising Kasius for the fact Kasius' servants can't hear requests from guests.

I actually get sad that Jemma never heard that speech.

Fitz channeling "The Doctor" in order to play the cold-blooded Marauder is also amazing.

At the end of episode 6, I just had to stop and write about it.

I'm in the middle of a rewatch. Up to season 4. Here are a few thoughts.

I covered up all spoilers.

I'm in awe of Iain De Caestecker's acting. After he does one of his great scenes, I always have to immediately rewind so I can watch it again. Once is not enough for such stellar performances.

I'm appreciating Elizabeth Henstridge a lot more this time around. The writers don't give her as much to work with, but she still does a great job.

Henry Simmons is also a great actor. It is too bad that the writers make his character so annoying at times. The last few episodes of season 3 show the two extremes his character can encompass.

The scene where he comforts Daisy >!after she is freed from Hive!< shows Mack at his very best (reminiscent of how gentle he was with Fitz >!when he was dealing with his traumatic brain injury!< in season 2).

Then a couple of episodes later, he flips to his self-righteous argumentative alter ego. >!Mack ignores Yo-Yo bleeding out from a gunshot wound while arguing with Radcliff about creating the primitive Inhumans.!<

It just makes you want to hit him over the head with something (rolled-up newspaper or something harder like a rolling pin - I imagine his head is pretty hard)
