Has Ratt aged better than The Crue?

Has Ratt aged better than The Crue?

I was never a huge Ratt fan (thought they had about 5 or 6 good songs off their first three albums), but loved The Crue and still have about 15 or so of their songs on heavy rotation.

However, it seems that people speak more favorably of Ratt these days than The Crue. Like Ratt were the better musicians, or have more credibility, or something.

I wonder if that is because The Crue has sort of worn out their welcome over the past 20 years, while Ratt is kind of “frozen in time” at their 80’s peak.

Even Sammy Haters can surely agree that 5150 is better than VHIII, right?

Now that we’ve established that Eat ‘Em and Smile is one of the greatest rock albums of all time, on par with Diver Down, (which itself is considered by many in this sub as the best VH album of them all), and that 5150 is a bubblegum pop album that doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same conversation as either of these masterpieces.

Perhaps this is the comparison where even Sammy Haters can admit that 5150 is the superior album…

Now that the glazing of Diver Down is complete and we’ve established it is the greatest VH album of all time, it’s clear that 5150 never had a chance against such perfection.

So maybe this is the better comparison?

I mean Diver Down, by their own admission, was a real low-effort affair, with 5 covers. While 5150 was pretty stacked with bangers, (until you hit The Inside).

Edit/Update: had no idea DD was such a beloved masterpiece.

Does everyone think the “best decade” is whichever one they were teenagers in?

I believe the 1980’s was the best decade of my lifetime. I could argue a million reasons why, but I wonder if it’s just because that’s when I was in middle school and high school.

Do most people born in the 80’s think the 90’s is the best? Born in 90’s think 2000s the best?
