Hot sleeper recommendations

I am an extremely hot sleeper and wake up DRENCHED in sweat every night. Like, my clothes, sheets, pillows etc. I am on medications and have an autoimmune condition so i know those are some of the reasons, but my bedding is cheap and it is time for an upgrade.

I didn't realize until now, but my current duvet insert is down alternative aka plastic from Amazon. I do have a 100% cotton duvet cover, but that doesn't do much. I also have a cheap plastic mattress protector that we got when we bought the mattress.

I am looking for recommendations on how to sleep more comfortably. I have looked into wool duvets, wool mattress protectors, and I am just not sure what is my best bet. I cannot afford a fancy cooling system and am on a budget so can't spend much at the moment, but willing to invest what i can to get somewhat good sleep.

I am looking into the woolroom light wool comforter/duvet as well as the wool mattress protector. Does anyone have the same issues as I do and have found these to help?

I live in Colorado so it does get hot in the summer but not unbearable. I do sleep with the AC on and used to use a tower fan which helped somewhat, but i really do believe it is the polyester in my comforter that is contributing the most. Any advice or what has worked for you is very appreciated.

My dad is Hispanic and I always thought my mom was mostly French so this was an interesting mix. People can never pinpoint my ethnic background.
