Boarding pass disappeared from app

This isn’t a new issue, it’s a recurring issue and one that hasn’t been fixed with the latest app update (which has also slowed the app to a crawl).

Was on a connecting flight to CPH via MUC. Arrived in Munich and could see the boarding pass. All good. Stopped for breakfast and the boarding pass disappeared with no option to get it back.

Had to walk to a Lufthansa kiosk and check in again (kiosk recognized I was checked in already, but had to go through several steps to print a boarding pass). I do now have a paper boarding pass, but please UA …. FIX the issue of boarding passes disappearing from the app for no apparent reason. And/or give us the ability to pull up an old one if you don’t know why they’re disappearing.

V8 for 2027?

Went to get an oil change today. In my bought-new ‘16 LC200. Mentioned to the SA - who I’ve known for close to 11 years or since I bought the vehicle - that I’m considering jumping to a LX700 OT. Asked about status of current engines…. the 3.4L V6 twin turbo.

The advice was - in a nutshell:

- Hang on to the V8 for as long as you possibly can; until the wheels fall off or it’s totaled. Totally different reliability profile between the 5.7L V8 NA and the 3.4L V6 TT. (Not new news; but confirmatory).

- No engine failures so far for 2026 models with the V6 (eg Tundras) at this dealership. One of the larger truck dealers in the US. (This is very good news for customers currently in the market; though I’d personally wait until 2027 if I had to get one ASAP).

- A V8 is coming (this was not stated as “possibly” or “likely”, but rather as a matter of fact). “Toyota understands this is what customers want.” No due date given. I asked if it could be for 2027 - and got a shrug, so perhaps 2027 or 2028? But man - a naturally aspirated V8 would be awesome. (Also no confirmation that it would be NA).

Old app > new app

The UA app used to be pretty darned great. Booking flights was simple and efficient. Loading an itinerary or boarding pass was fast.

But the most recent update has slowed the app to a crawl. Even simple tasks like looking up an itinerary takes a while - the little “wheel” spins and spins and spins…. and I can “see” the top part of the itinerary, but can’t scroll while waiting for the page to load.

And booking a flight …. the UI/UX is needlessly complicated. It’s as if it’s designed for an iPad or full size monitor vs an iPhone. And extra clicks are required.

Would really like United to address the responsiveness of the app, and to fix the display of flight options to look more like it did pre-update.

It went from simple & clean, intuitive and responsive to messy, needlessly complicated and slow.
