Applying to NNP school

Hi! Looking for advice specifically on NNP programs, but my questions are likely relevant to all NP programs, so open to advice from anyone!

I’m hoping to start NNP school next fall and am a bit overwhelmed with the options given that most programs are primarily hybrid, so I’m not limited by what’s close to me.

How did you go about deciding where to apply? At the moment I’m looking for programs that match for clinicals, are affordable, and will offer a good education.

But I’m unsure how to get a good read on the quality of education provided. Are there specific things you looked for when picking a program?

Also looking for any advice on strengthening my application - I have over 5 years of level 4 nicu experience, in addition to picu and pediatric/neonatal air transport, so not needing more direct patient experience.

Luggage transfer

Hi!! Looking in to luggage transfer and seeing lots of options for transfer between stages but not a lot transfer from our start location to Santiago de compostela.

We are specifically looking for transfer from Tui to Santiago de compostela.

Our other issue is that we are not staying in Tui. We will be taking the train from Porto to Tui the morning that we begin.

Would it be best to do pickup in Porto or Tui? And what options would you recommend for transfer?

Group rides

Hi!! Newly getting into cycling - recently did ragbrai had so much fun and want to make this a more regular habit.

My issue is I really like the social aspects of cycling and have been unable to talk my friends into going with me. How do you go about finding group rides and a community in general?

Open to any advice for someone just starting out too :)

Thank you!!

Starting over … again

Have tried to quit so many times over the years.

I still remember doing a yearly tarot read back in 2022 and getting pulling the devil for my overall theme of the year. I knew at this time that it was in reference to my growing weed addiction.

Since then I’ve definitely walked off a cliff. I can no longer moderate my usage at all. I’ve tried to quit more times than I can count and always end up back in the same spot - high all day every day.

I always think back to years ago and wish I’d just stuck with sobriety. It’s so easy to grieve what could’ve been if I’d stayed sober.

So today I’m trying again, for hopefully the last time. Going to try to post more frequently to keep myself accountable. Today’s theme: things I know will be better once I’m through the withdrawals.

  1. No longer have to worry about someone finding out about my weed usage due to smell
  2. I’ll be so much more productive
  3. I will look better - whiter teeth, clearer skin, less dead eyes, etc.
  4. No more constant anxiety around potential drug tests
  5. I’ll actually answer my phone and say yes to last minute plans
  6. I will be a better friend
  7. I’ll be more “on” at work
  8. My true personality will come out again
  9. I’ll get back into old hobbies I’ve been neglecting
  10. My lungs can finally start to heal

When did it finally stick for you

I’ve tried to quit so many times before that I’ve completely lost count. I’m always feeling so good sober that I think I’ll be able to moderate my usage but I’ve proved to myself time and time again that that is just not something I’m capable of.

I’m on day 1 today and I know I have a long road ahead of me. I’m already feeling emotional swings and deeper depression than usual and I’m scared that this might be the time I don’t make it through.

I hate myself for starting to smoke again and for putting myself in a position to have to go through the quitting process yet again.

I don’t know what to do I don’t want this. I just want to quit for good and I don’t know how to get there.

When did quitting finally stick for you and did you do anything different than previous attempts to make it go better?
