Managed to pick up something pretty cool - these 2 medals owned by MG Shaler - MoH for Chancellorsville 1863. The left is a 7th NY Militia (he was a Major in 7th NYSM) and a "Best Zouave Cadet" medal ...pre ACW.
Pre-1900 (single kokarde) visor cap from the German 104th Infantry Regiment. Originally a private purchase item (Eigentumstuck) then turned over to Regimental stores and issued to Soldat Korndorfer, 1st Company. It's a real longshot - but can anyone find him?n
A rabbit hole for me is collecting to German Regiments who served with or in the British force at Waterloo. I also love Imperial German anyway and got a pretty good deal in these - Meissen plates from the 30s!
I managed to buy a lot of 5 uniforms at auction - I was the only bidder. In that I found 2 from the Argylls. The first is the mess dress jacket for Captain Stuart Lumsden Robinson, 1/A&S, KIA at Magersfontein in 1889. The second is the doublet to 2d Lieut. John Lennox Fetherstonhaugh, 2/A&S, KIA in Ypres 10 Nov 1914.
Greetings! The tunic looks like Royal Artillery, has RA buttons and a Master Gunner insignia. But I don't think the chevrons are placed correctly and cannot figure out the braid -- it's not on any example I can find. Can anyone help?
Hello All - I picked this up at an auction. It's a box made from 2× officer cartouche lids of the 11th Hussars with the clasps of one of the cartouches mounted on the sides. No idea the age...I can't figure out if these are QVC crowns. Could someone give me a valuation?

Found this labeled as a copy Pour Le Merite on an auction last month. I took a chance with a low ball bid and won. is a copy, but I think it's a Steinhauer and Luck piece from the '60s - very collectible. Other opinions?

Since moving to Wiesbaden I've taken an interest in the Duchy of Nassau - absorbed by Prussia in 1866. While independent, it fielded 2 x infantry regiments which fought at Waterloo. This is their Waterloo medal as well as the Officer 25 year service cross. Sold together as a pair but, or course, no provenance. Still - a rare find generally.
