Incoming Bachelor Students at THI

Hi everyone!
I’m an incoming Bachelor’s student at THI (Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt) starting this winter semester.
I’d love to connect with other incoming Bachelor’s students, especially those starting in October 2026. It would be great to get to know each other before arriving, share information about accommodation, enrollment, courses, and life in Ingolstadt, and maybe create a group chat.
If you’re also joining THI for your Bachelor’s, comment below or send me a DM!

German student visa status changed to “Application has been decided by the German Mission” after 2 days

Hi everyone,
I had my German student visa interview 2 days ago. Today, the Consular Services Portal changed to “Your application has been decided by the German Mission.” It doesn’t say whether it’s approved or rejected.

Has anyone else had a decision this quickly? What was your outcome, and how long did it take to get your passport back after the status changed?

IS IT A RED FLAG?
Im stressed ab it

Thanks in advance!

THI autonomous vehicle engineering

Hey everyone,

I recently got admitted to the Autonomous Vehicle Engineering (AVE) program at THI (tuition-exempt, which is a huge plus) and I want to get a realistic picture of the local job market before committing.

Obviously, Ingolstadt is a massive hub, but what’s the reality on the ground?

THI AVE Reputation: How is this specific program viewed by local employers? Does the curriculum's balance of hardware and software actually align with what teams need right now?

Hiring & Stability: Are companies actively recruiting for perception, prediction, and sensor fusion, or has the market cooled down?

Tech Focus: Is the effort going into actual L4 research, or is everything heavily shifted to scaling L2+/L3 for near-term production?

Would love to hear from any THI alumni or engineers currently working in the area. Thanks!
