My baby is all grown up! Spot the glands

haven't gotten a good look at the other one recently. I'm hoping they're both boys like I've been assuming the past year. their names are sine and cosine (pictured).

Aquasoil debate

Would this be safe for ADFs if it was rinsed and capped with fine sand? I'm also open to soaking it beforehand to prevent an ammonia spike. I am worried about my plants getting enough nutrients since most fertilizers can't be used with frogs but at the same time these guys absorb everything. I've heard very mixed reviews.

meiofauna ID help

internet told me these are probably harmless protozoa. I just want to make sure they won't hurt my african dwarf frogs. anyone recognize either?

Plants dipped in malachite green then rinsed- safe for ADFs?

I know malachite green is toxic to invertebrates and I do NOT plan on using it in my tank!

my frogs also do not have active parasites nor do I see any untoward activity in my tank.

I had to store some plants in my brother's outdoor pond for 2 weeks (weird, I know) and now I'm planning to introduce them to a tank with ADFs, neocaridina shrimp, and snails. of course, I'm worried about hitchhikers and more dangerous parasites so I was thinking of dip treating the plants with malachite green then rinsing them well. would the chemicals leave a residue and/or be enough to hurt the frogs? I will just use hydrogen peroxide if I need to but I have the malachite green on hand

TIFU... stupid mistake

at this point, the frogs are okay. tagged spoilers for dying shrimp 💔

feeling so frustrated at this ridiculous mistake I made. I bought live brine shrimp for the first time for my ADFs and thought I had a great idea, but massively fucked up. instead of feeding them with a pipette or spoon, I decided to acclimate and then pour them all in my community tank so they could possibly breed and become a self-sustaining staple food source.

I foolishly assumed they're freshwater, because freshwater creatures eat them. ten minutes later, i realized oh my god they are literally called brine shrimp. they might as well be called saltwater shrimp. I did some frantic googling and the shrimp will pass away in a few hours, but more alarmingly (sorry shrimp), I poured 4 oz of saltwater into my ~15 gallons.

that's only about a third of the lethal dose according to some quick math, but I still panicked. did a 20% water change and will do another later tonight or tomorrow morning. trying not to shock them too much temperature wise, it's the last thing they need. also going to take advantage of the full 20 gallons of my tank (had it shallow for some floating plants to be on display), dilution is the solution to pollution or whatever.

I'll attach a "cute" picture i took of the shrimp nibbling my biofilm before I realized I fucked up.

has anyone ever made any mistakes this dumb? help me feel better LOL
