Please help me on how to improve their tank/setup

So they have the aqueon smart clean filter it doesn’t have the temp regulator, there is three sprouts of red fern (I recently trimmed one because it was a bit dead) and some moss. There is also the plant that’s tall in the back not sure what it’s called. We used the sand substrate stuff from petsmart. The little hideouts are stable but if getting an actual put together one is better we’re willing to improve in whatever way necessary. It’s not clean rn either, we need to implement a system to actually be able to clean said sand. But rn we have two babies in there one is 4 months the other is new not too sure how old. I believe the first one is a female because she’s pear shaped and the new one looks slim so could be a boy but not sure. However I want to make this tank setup very easy to maintain and clean but also the best possible environment for them. Please send any and all recommendations! The light can be adjusted to be a lower brightness as well and only goes for 8 hours and turns “night” light on for 2 and it’s off the rest of the time. The filter is on a low stream since they don’t swim well. I put one of the ferns right by the intake so they don’t get stuck on it and to make sure the flow isn’t too strong. I also do water changes at least weekly too! I was just out sick for a week and came back to the tank very green so I spot cleaned as much as possible. This unfortunately is already an upgrade from how they were taking care of her before but I want to give them the best life. So please help and send any and all recommendations!

Bloated stomach and lethargic African dwarf frog! Please help!

I am new to keeling african dwarf frogs, and I love the two that I have. I am planning to get a third frog, and I already have another tank ready to quarantine the new frog. However, my smaller frog (named little dingus) has developed a bloated stomach. He is much slower than my other frog(named big chungus) who loves to swim all around the tank, and goes crazy during feeding time. Little dingus prefers to stay at the bottom, and is much less enthusiastic about feeding time, however he still eats a lot. I feed them frozen mysis and brine shrimp every other day. I recently did a water change, and everything was perfectly fine. Even though little dingus is a slower swimmer, he is still able to get to the surface to get air. I am worried he could have bloat or another serious issue. If you have any idea what could be going on with my frog, please help!!

My elderly frog won’t eat

It’s a girl but it’s a mrs kipling situation so I still call him, him. But he’s big and greedy, he NEVER rejects food. but recently he’s been flat out refusing to eat. he’s around 6ish years old and almost entirely blind. my dad took him to an amphibian specialist last year who said he looks like it’s just old age causing the blindness, so I don’t know if that’s a reason he‘s not eating or if it’s just a sign of something else going on in his body.
But the way I feed him is I gently tap on the glass so he‘s aware, wiggle my finger in the water, and drop it in front of his face. recently I’ve tried just holding it right in front of his mouth but he just ”looks” at it then moves away.

he looks fine, he has his color, he’s plump, and responsive. But he hasnt eaten in like 9 days even though I still give him food. I put a little shell in his tank with some pellets snd I’ve been replacing them every other day just in case he decides to munch when he changes his mind or something.

but I’m starting to get concerned. He’s been pretty slow too. The tank is fine, water is good, everything seems to be normal besides him not eating and being slow. My parents think it’s just his time but who knows. Opinions?

1 year of frog owning has fattened up my boy :)

It's been almost a year since I had my first frog dropped on me, and I've never been more happy to have an unexpected animal! Taking care of the frogs and having a feeding + cleaning routine has also helped me regulate my own schedule a little better. Listening to them sing at night makes me feel accomplished too, lol.

Going back through my pictures, I'm only just now realizing how awfully skinny Beau was when I first got him (first 2 pics were how he arrived ☹️). Now he's fattened up significantly, and is still very healthy and active! I've added a couple of plants, accidentally killed a couple by burying them too deep, and now I have 3 really strong Amazon Swords and 2 Red Tiger Lotuses that the frogs like to hang out in/on, plus some sprigs of grass and moss that I'm entirely forgetting the names of. I also added a better heater/thermometer, much larger rocks/gravel, and a couple of easily accessible/escapable hiding spots.

Frogs just might end up being my gateway drug for other aquarium species, they're so much fun to take care of!

African Dwarf Frogs in a 29 Gallon Tank?

I’m thinking about starting an aquarium and i wasn’t sure if African dwarf frogs could be properly housed in a 29 gallon tank. I’m aware that the space is large enough in theory, but I wasn’t sure if they would be alright to house with fish and shrimp or if the tank would be too tall for them. Should I keep them in a tank with fish or should I buy a separate, maybe 15 gallon tank to keep a couple of them in?

Should I move my tank?

My tank is on my dresser, so I’m opening and closing the drawers a lot throughout the day and I’m worried it’s stressing my frogs out from the movement. They’re eating fine and moving around a lot (exploring, surfacing for air, etc.) but I’m just worried they’re too stressed bc of lots of activity near their tank

Is there anyway to reverse past owners’ damage?

I work at a pet store that receives adult adf relinquishes pretty often and have taken home quite a few to my species only tank. This girl’s appearance hasn’t improved in the past few months I’ve had her under proper care. I’m wondering if she looks healthy or if there’s anything I can do to help her? Specifically her eyes and body shape - I have mostly girls and ik they are curvy but her body seems different?

Missing a frog

I am missing one of my adf’s and i can’t find anywhere not in the tank not anywhere around the tank nowhere and my bedroom is not that big. Obviously I know if he’s not in the tank he’s passed but I feel a need to recover a body to have peace of mind. I had a lid and all. Has anyone else gone through this or have any advice.

potentially agressive ADF

i’ve had a female dwarf frog named prismarine since september. i bought her with a tank mate male. he randomly disappeared while i was on vacation in april and i never found his body so i assumed she ate him. i got another male as i know ADF’s are usually better in groups and ive had him for a while now, but just found him belly up with his left back leg gone? water parameters are fine. not sure where to go from here in terms of frog tankmates for this girl, as they keep winding up missing limbs or entirely gone. but i also don’t want her to be lonely! not sure what to do

Why do they keep dieing?

I just bought 6 African dwarf frogs,3 phantom tetras and 2 juli corydoras and I have them in this 20 gallon long (see picture) and all of them have been doing fine untill yesterday. 3 frogs died within the span of 6 hours, and I couldn't figure out why. I did multiple test strips and the nitrate looked fine , the nitrite looked fine, the pH was good. Everything looked normal but then this morning, I wake up and another one had died. And of course it's almost 2 weeks after I bought them so the guarantee has expired. I'm going back to the store I bought the. From today and seeing if they can do anything about it and see if they can test my water. I think it might be the chlorine in the water as my city water was recently extremely high in chlorine but I also think it is the ammonia levels due to the high waste level from the frogs. If you have any tips or what I should do please let me know as I am 14 and new to this.

Lid help/overall advice

Hi all!! I'm hoping to set up a tank and I'm wondering about lids. My hope is to use a low flow sponge filter (it seems that would be best?) so I don't think I need a lid with a space for a HOB filter. But, I've seen stuff about AFDs escaping/jumping out so I'm not sure if a lidless tank would work? Overall, just need experience/advice and help! Also - other than the lid situation, if y'all have guidance please share. Thank you in advance!
