Let’s share our super low calorie packaged foods
We all know that eating fresh is best but since I really don’t have time make my own keto bread, sometimes we need the packaged stuff to get us through. Here are the products I use to help me achieve my goals, please share yours, I want more!
- konjac jelly. I use the Dally brand and the Tastelli brand. 10 calories, similar to jello but keto and vegan if either of those matter to you.
- choczero, I get jelly from them for 5 calories and it’s better than any I’ve found in grocery stores. If you know someone who has to avoid sugar I would recommend many items from brand, but the others aren’t low calorie
-Walden farms. I use several of their vinaigrettes as is, especially the zesty Italian and the sun dried tomatoe vinaigrettes, those are their best. I mix their ranch, which is watery and weak flavored, 50/50 with g highs ranch to cut the calories in half. If I’m craving Alfredo sauce, I’ll use theirs and add a full serving of Parmesan to it. They make tons of other sauces, and all their products are 0 calories.
-soeos DRY rice flour and konjac flour rice. It must be the dry one, the other one is just straight konjac, and that’s when you get into the weird smells and time consuming prep to get rid of said smells with konjac. But the dry stuff is amazing. Pour hot water/stock over the dry “grains” and wait 10 minutes for something that feels like rice or orzo. It also is perfectly enjoyable without added butter or fat, which I can’t do with rice or pasta.
- Nutpods creamer and skinny mixes zero sugar caramel for my coffee. To be fair, I also use my protein shake as creamer, but I am a coffee fiend, and I like a Stanley cup sized portion of cold brew daily, sweet and creamy, so one serving of the nut pods creamer and a squeeze of the caramel on top of protein shake make it perfect, like a full fat iced coffee from Dutch bros. It’s my breakfast daily.
-inked keto sourdough bread: I don’t do keto, but who can say no 35 calories a slice and it tastes and feels like white bread. 50 calories of sliced turkey and lettuce, some light mayo and I’m enjoying a perfectly normal tasting sandwich for under 200 calories.
- and one indulgence: drizzelicious rice cake bites are amazing 90 calories for 21 crisps, best texture I’ve ever dreamed a rice cake could be, and tastes like dessert.
Ok those are my main tools for helping me fill in my menu on top of my ground turkey, super lean ground beef, scallops. Salmon, shrimp and vegetables! What are your go to packaged items?
