If you have a wegmans nearby — worth a check!
It feels like every category of food is becoming a “high protein” product now.
Protein bread.
Protein cereal.
Protein ice cream.
Protein yogurt.
Not complaining 😂 but I’m curious:
Do you actually choose products because they’re high in protein, or has “high protein” just become another marketing claim you automatically notice?
And has anyone here actually tried Skyr?
made it ramen style it was decent 9 calories for the noodles and 20ish for topping and sauce
a little chalky but the taste was actually pretty good IMO. 7/10
edit: did not realized the expiration date... lmao 😭😭 honestly though now that i know they're discontinued i might go back and grab some more, stomach be damned
Two cans. Same brand. 👀
One has sugar. One doesn’t.
If someone poured both into identical glasses and didn’t tell you which was which, do you think you’d actually be able to tell the difference?
And which one do you prefer?
I’m genuinely curious, especially from people who normally say they can immediately taste the difference 😂
As you can guess, yes, they are disgustingly expensive. But seems like a good alternative to regular konjac pastas because there is some regular flour in their formulas. This gnocchi does have actual potato in it but is mostly konjac flour.
first I want to say don’t come at me for getting this. I wont forgive them for putting gatsby out of business and forcing nicks to change their ice cream recipe
i got 1 of each of their 4 flavors at target
this is the last flavor I had to try. taste just like the cookie dough vanilla base but without the cookie dough or chocolate obv. this is my least favorite of the 4
id say my final ranks are
overall I wouldn’t really want to buy these again, they’re over priced /texture is chalky/and flavors are meh
Just found this sold at Costco!
Dark chocolate peanut butter cup 80cal 9/10
Dark chocolate peanut gems 50cal 9.5/10
Dark chocolate caramel peanut nougat bar 90cal 9/10
found this at shoprite, altho I’ve also seen it at other stores like Walmart etc.
it’s pretty good but not my fav! the pistachio isn’t strong at all and the pomegranate part of this just tastes like mixed berry ? more like mixed berry chocolate flip idk it reminds me of the strawberry chocolate Chobani flip.
my #1 is the caramel pretzel flip I highly recommend it :)
Read the disclaimer at the bottom before trying anything.
PsylPro #12 — Chicken Nuggets! 🍗
This one surprised me.
13 good-sized chicken nuggets, packed with flavour and protein. The texture is genuinely meaty, and you would never guess there’s psyllium in them.
And…that weird mucilaginous psyllium texture you get when drinking it cold?
IT'S GONE. FOREVER. 😂
This makes a seriously satisfying lunch and, for me, keeps hunger away for 6hours.
Recipe
- 200 g water
- 200 g minced chicken (150 kcal/100 g)
- 20 g seasoning (150 kcal/100 g)
- 20 g soy protein
- 2 tbsp psyllium husk (10–15 g)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Method
Mix everything thoroughly and divide the mixture into an ice-cube mold that is suitable for microwave use.
Microwave until the chicken is fully cooked — around 6–8 minutes in my microwave, but cooking time will vary, so make sure the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature.
Remove from the mold, flip onto a cutting board, add your favourite sauce or dressing, and enjoy.
The idea is still the same: psyllium + protein as the base, with the other ingredients mainly for flavour and nutrition.
But this time, the result is something completely different: meaty, firm and surprisingly satisfying.
Approx. whole-batch calories: ~530–560 kcal, depending on the psyllium and exact seasoning.
Disclaimer
This is just me sharing an experiment, not recommending that anyone try it. If you're not used to psyllium, start cautiously, drink plenty of water, and do your own research. Psyllium can cause problems if consumed incorrectly. I'm sharing what I did, but I'm not responsible for anyone who decides to try it themselves.
these are good!! I don’t rly taste the “garlic butter” flavor tho lol, it tastes almost identical to the original regular surimi
I’m exploring what sugar substitutes are out there and what some offer compared to others, and I’m interested to know, do you guys buy the ones that taste closest to sugar or are you more concerned about the health benefits/risks. I can swing each way but don’t really know where to start. Thanks :)
Found this at my local Lidl. 70 cals for a pack of Ramen seemed expectionally better than other Ramen brands and taste just like regular Ramen.
tried all 4 flavors from Walmart!
ill rank my most to least favorite and a small desc of flavor. the texture of these aren’t as brittle as quest chips; closer to regular tortilla chip texture but still not quite
