Has anyone tried these "hybrid" konjac pastas? Made with konjac AND actual flour

As you can guess, yes, they are disgustingly expensive. But seems like a good alternative to regular konjac pastas because there is some regular flour in their formulas. This gnocchi does have actual potato in it but is mostly konjac flour.

2 egg breakfast from diner, with unknown portion of hash and home fries?

There is a patty of presumably canned corned beef hash about the same size as the egg, under the eggs. Home fries were very much not greasy. Eggs were not greasy at all either

Dog trainer needing career change - Advice/opinions on the switch

I have been a R+ dog trainer for 7+ years in a chain pet store and before that, worked in daycare and boarding. I am burnt out by my profession, not at all because of the people, dogs, or training, but because of the sales and entrepreneurial aspects and generally the retail environment.

My husband said to me the other day, "Everytime we go to our favorite (dog friendly) bar, youre trying to sell training to someone". I hate sales, I hate that sales requires being manipulative and pushy, I dont like doing it. But to make a career as a trainer, you NEED to do it. I have come to accept that I absolutely cant do this forever. Love training, love people and their animals, even at their worst. But I hate being entrepreneurial, therefore, there is no growth for me unless I do what I hate. I am no wolf of Wallstreet.

I am Fear Free certified, AKC CGC Evaluator, and very passionate and knowledgeable about animal behavior and health. I am extremely confident I can learn to be a vet assistant quickly.

What do you think will be my biggest challenges with this career change?

My biggest concern is physical demand. I wrestle a lot of dogs and have managed dangerously human aggressive large breeds plenty of times. But, I weigh 86lbs, so I am concerned about being expected to repeatedly for example, lift a sedated limp 120lb+ dog onto a table, and such. Is it a big issue to have someone less physically able working as a tech?

What skills or knowledge should I study to prepare for the interview or job that I wouldnt have from training/boarding?

7k bill after insurance, cannot afford minimum monthly payment plan. Wtf do I do?

The 7k bill is just one of my bills from an emergency room visit in the beginning of the month. I also have one for 1.2k and another for 560. The minimum monthly payment for the 7k is 390 dollars. I cant afford it, period. I work in retail right now and my fiance is in college.

The doctor was telling me not to worry about the bill, because he once had a bill for 30k and he set up a payment plan for 8 dollars a month and its fine. The nurses told me the same thing, that as long as I pay something, I have nothing to worry about.

My billing portal literally does not allow me to make a payment under 390. I never go to the doctor's because of this and so I have no idea what to do or how to handle it. Im freaking out reading other posts of people being sued for medical debt. I can afford like 50 per month at most.

Please help, I am going through so much right now, supposed to be helping support my fiance of 14 years through college, trying to start my own career outside of retail, but now because I had one medical emergency I worry that all of that will be impossible.

Is it possible to transfer stores with a recent action plan?

Tldr I have gone 7 years without a single disciplinary action and now have received two in a 30 day period, and its very likely retaliation but can't be disputed because the reasoning is valid for an action plan.

Love my store but im worried my job security is at risk if I stay here unfortunately

My company was bought out by private equity and my position has become a sales position, I am the worst salesperson ever and need help

Tldr: Been a dog trainer in a retail store for six years. Am amazing at dog training. Private equity firm bought company and now my priority is sales, not being a good trainer. I am very uncomfortable with pitching, closing sales, and cold selling. Need to improve quick to keep job.

I have been with my company for six+ years with zero corrective action, many employee of the months, and generally very well respected. For context, I am a dog trainer in a retail store. I have always been expected to meet a sales goal but was only expected to approach customers clearly buying training items.

Now I am expected to be hard selling to just about any customer, cold calling a weekly list, basically every customer interaction I have needs to be a sales pitch.

My job was never a sales job, it was a dog training job, and I NEVER would have applied if I knew it would become this. Private equity is of course just trying to squeeze out as much profit as possible so now my "dog trainer" role has become a sales role first and foremost. They do not care about my five star reviews, holiday cards I get each year from past clients, or the amazing success stories I created, just sales.

I need to improve quickly while I find another job, because I am receiving my second corrective action in under one month for not beating sales goal, and not making every interaction a sales pitch. Again, never once received corrective action in six years. It is also likely they are just pushing me to quit due to seniority.

My issues:

-I fucking hate being pushy and assertive because I hate when an employee does it to me while im shopping

-Customers in a retail pet store are just trying to get their pet food and leave, mostly

-I fucking hate cold calling and cold selling in general, makes me want to rip my hair out. Very uncomfortable doing it and hate the constant rejection

-I cannot for the life of me close a sale. I am not pushy enough and fear that being too pushy is unbecoming for a dog trainer

My expectations:

-If someone is buying anything for a dog/puppy, I need to give a sales pitch for dog training classes and close the sale

-If someone comes into the store with a poorly behaved dog, that should be a sale almost everytime

-Weekly in store training events (i have been doing these, with no success. Basically anyone can get a free 15 min evaluation and I am expected to sell sell sell)

Common customer rebuttals:

- We are already in training

- I will think about it/ask my husband

- I think we are doing good without training

- Don't have the money right now

What I am selling:

- Six week group classes priced at 149, and private classes at 89/hr

How do I get more comfortable being a heartless hard seller? My whole job has always been about being very empathetic with humans and their dogs. Its hard to switch from that to seeing people as just a potential sale. I just cant imagine an 8 hour shift of constant rejection.

Seeking recipes that are like canned dog food/"slop bowls"

I have craved wet dog food my whole life. There are many foods ive made that are similar, but most of them are very time consuming to make. An example is slow cooker chuck roast stew with less liquid that usual. On the internet these days, they call this genre of food "slop bowls". I cannot get enough of them.

Needs to be:

-thick, moist, somewhat homogenous texture. Not like soup which is liquid with solids in it, but not quite as homogenous as oatmeal.

-meat-based, ideally pork, beef or chicken. Eggs okay too

-contain veggies

Do not want:

-super complex ingredients/cooking

-super high in fat/carbs (i have a very sensitive stomach)

-long cooking or prep times

Examples of meals i have made that hit those marks:

-Ground beef cooked and seasoned, with a bit of rice, canned diced carrots&peas, and a triangle of laughing cow cheese melted in

-Scrambled eggs, canned potatoes, and diced bell peppers mashed in a bowl with some Mexican cheese

The only thing missing from these is the gravy-like texture that wet dog food has. I dont necessarily want to add a real gravy because it would be nearly as many calories as the actual food ingredients in the meal, but if i could get that texture in there somehow, I think I would be eating that like 15 times per week lol

Ball python health issues

Anyone else having severe issues with their BP? They are consistently arrived dehydrated and slightly underweight, then they refuse to eat for 4-6 weeks and eventually get euthanized when vet care doesnt help. We haven't had a single healthy BP this year. Some of them are requiring force feeding or injections (per vet) and 90% of them show no improvement anyways and need to be euthanized. Does petsmart not realize it isnt profitable to send out sick animals that inevitably require hundreds of dollars in vet bills just to get put down? Nevermind the major ethical concerns. About 40% of our Syrians also develop wet tail or respiratory issues within a few days of shipment.

Stuck in hospital and forced by circumstance to go cold turkey

I was using 9mg six times per day easy. For a few months. Ended up in hospital with weird allergic reaction stuff and thought id be in and out so I didnt bring a tin. Been 48 hours with zero nicotine.

Once I hit 8 hours with no nicotine, withdrawal set in badly. I was crying non stop, angry, moaning and groaning, wanting to peel my skin off. Most of all just so frustrated with my situation and felt out of control. No physical symptoms to note, only mental.

12 hours in, withdrawal almost completely faded. I will admit I was using small wadded up paper towel dipped in soda and then in salt to soothe the oral fixation. It helped a LOT. I just put it in like a pouch. I wasnt thinking about the zyns anymore at all.

Now im 48hrs in and the frustration is back. I want to get rhe fuck out of here and have a zyn. Im stuck in an empty room, laying in a bed with nothing at all to do and I cant even have a zyn. All day and all night. Im usually a really active person so im frustrated and bored in general but I know the withdrawal is making it 10x worse.

Just wanted to share my experience. Withdrawal was actually not that bad at all considering how heavy of a user I am. If I remained locked up in the hospital for a week id probably be done with zyn. The issue for me is I do not yet want to quit. Now I know I could when the time comes

Where did you go after quitting?

Just looking for ideas and how to best phrase my work experience at petsmart and translate that to another position. Can't take it anymore lol, but it is hard to figure out where else I would fit. For reference I have worked every position except leader and groomer/bather.

Despite rampant understaffing, the expectations keep becoming more absurd and out of touch.

Everyone knows about the sign ups, activations, puppy guides, autoship, ATS, and more. Now we are supposed to COLD CALL customers and beg them to come to our events. The same customers we harass in store are now getting what are essentially spam calls from us too.

It reeks of desparation and honestly if they start regularly expecting us to cold call customers to beg them to come in, i wouldnt blame people for wanting their account/information deleted and not giving us their business. Not a single customer called today was interested and a couple were very irritated by the call.

Long story short I am working on recovering from alcoholism which has sent my diet and cravings spiraling. I took ozempic for 9 months 2 yrs ago and have some left in the fridge. You would think cutting out thousands of liquid calories per week would result in weight loss but it has done quite the opposite!

I maintained my weight with total ease until I stopped drinking. I was looking into microdosing just to help maintain the habits I built but I was wondering if my stash in the fridge is worth even trying. Most of it is about 1 year old. I dont care if its less effective, if anything, that would be better. But if it will have no effect on my hunger and only cause those dreaded side effects, I will throw it out. It just hurts throwing out like 800 dollars of product 😭
