AITA For Telling My Wife She Can’t Host my sons Ex Anymore?
Me and my wife (both 48) have a 18 year old son in college and a 15 year old daughter.
My son dated this girl Mia from senior year of high school up to a few weeks ago. They don’t go to the same college (she goes to community college, he lives on campus at his school). and Mia was pretty liked by my wife and I.
My son broke up with her recently, his reasoning being that he felt he didn’t have the same freedom to do “college stuff” that his single friends did. I’m not posting this to debate the fact, and I thought it was not a hugr issue.
My wife still talks to her though every now and then. Shes been over s few times by herself, and the last time was when my Son was at the house at the time just swinging by. My son was pretty miffed to see her there, and later after Mia left, I (and my son) told her she shouldn’t host Mia here anymore. It’s weird and makes our son uncomfortable. And we should have his back. That turned into a full blown argument, my wife’s only argument being that she thinks the reason they broke uo was dumb. Even if he cheated on her I would still have this save stance. But I told my wife that she couldn’t have Mia come ove anymore, and she was upset about that for a while. Also, she has nothing in common with a 19 year old.
