आज एगो रोचक बात पढ़े के मिलल। 1960 के दसक में बनारस से भोजपुरी भासा आ साहित्य के बढ़ावे खातिर एगो बड़ सांस्कृतिक अभियान सुरू भइल, जेकरा के बाद में "बनारस आंदोलन" कहल गइल।

एह आंदोलन के मकसद भोजपुरी बोले वाला लोगन के एकजुट कइल रहे।

आज हमनी के सोशल मीडिया पर भोजपुरी के बढ़ावे के बात करेनीं , बाकिर 60 बरिस पहिले लोग बिना इंटरनेट के एह तरह के "नेटवर्किंग" कऽ के भोजपुरी खातिर मजगूत आधार तईयार क देले रहे।

हम रउआ सभे से कुछ सवाल पूछे के चाहत बानी:

1. का रउआ सोशल मीडिया (Reddit, Facebook, X, WhatsApp आदि) पर भोजपुरी में लिखे के कोसिस करेनीं ?
2. अगर ना, त का कारन बा? (आदत, कीबोर्ड, पाठक ना मिलल, भा कुछ अउर?)
3. का रउआ मानत बानी कि भोजपुरी के बिकास खातिर आम लोग के रोजाना इस्तेमाल सरकारी मान्यता से जादे जरूरी बा?
4. रउआ अनुसार भोजपुरी के बढ़ावा देवे खातिर सबसे परभावी कदम का हो सकेला?
5. का रउआ आपन मित-परिवार से भोजपुरी में बात करेनीं, बाकिर ऑनलाइन हिंदी/अंग्रेजी में लिखेनीं ?

I was reading Bhojpuri Sahitya ke Samajik Sarokar by Jitendra Verma and came across an interesting discussion on how the Bhojpuri language got its name.

According to the book, there are three major theories:

1. The Bhojdev/Bhojpur theory (most commonly known)

2. The Vedic "Bhoj" theory

3. The Mihir Bhoj theory

The interesting part is Rahul Sankrityayan's opinion.

Instead of accepting "Bhojpuri" as the original or ideal name, Rahul Sankrityayan suggested the names "Malli" and "Kashika". His reasoning was that many languages were named after ancient Mahajanapadas (like Angika and Vajjika which were pinned by Rahul Ji as the book says), so the language spoken in the Bhojpuri region could similarly be named after ancient republican states of the area.

However, the book notes that Rahul ji's proposed names never gained acceptance, while "Bhojpuri" remained the popular and established name.

I found this fascinating because I had always assumed the name Bhojpuri had a universally accepted origin.

What is the most convincing theory for the origin of the name "Bhojpuri"?

Bhojpuri content is often discussed only in terms of films and songs, but meaningful conversations in our language are just as important. That's why I'm excited about Bejod Talks, a new Bhojpuri talk show initiative by Nitin Chandra.

It's refreshing to see efforts that present Bhojpuri as a language of ideas, culture, and thoughtful discussion—not just entertainment.

I recently watched an edit of an old Bhojpuri song sung by Kishore Kumar, paired with beautiful modern visuals by bhopurstate(On Instagram ).The editing was so well done that it felt peaceful, and full of pure melody.

Bhojpuri music has always had a rich collection of soulful and meaningful songs. Edits like these help remind people of that legacy and introduce these gems to a new generation.

Maybe this is one of the best ways to change perceptions—not through arguments, but by letting great music speak for itself. ❤️🎶

Bhojpuri is the identity of millions, Bhojpuri is one of the most spoken regional languages in India, yet it still lacks proper recognition.

We request recognition of Bhojpuri in:
• The Eighth Schedule
• State recognition
• Private and government education systems

In Bhojpuri culture, the Peepal tree is not just a tree — it represents faith, tradition, and the soul of village life.
In many villages, the place of “Barham Baba” is found beneath a Peepal tree, where people gather for पूजा, prayers, and community bonding.

These traditions are a beautiful part of Bhojpuri heritage and deserve to be preserved ❤️

I think one misunderstanding needs to be cleared.

Many of the formal words used in this Bhojpuri film disclaimer can be called “Hindi”, even though they actually come from Sanskrit — and are shared across many Indian languages, not just Hindi.

Examples:

• Kalpanik (काल्पनिक)
• Vastavik (वास्तविक)
• Uddeshya (उद्देश्य)
• Pratinidhitva (प्रतिनिधित्व)
• Samarthan (समर्थन)

I’m using this Bhojpuri film disclaimer as an example for discussion.
Many people call such language “Hindiized Bhojpuri”, but I think some confusion exists between actual Hindi words and shared Sanskrit-origin vocabulary.

I want to hear people’s opinions:

• Which words/sentences in this image feel non-native or artificial to you?
• What would sound more naturally Bhojpuri instead?
• Should official/formal Bhojpuri stay close to folk speech, or develop a more standardised formal register?

While developing a formal standard for Bhojpuri, we should be careful not to lose the natural tone, pronunciation, and vocabulary that make Bhojpuri feel uniquely Bhojpuri.

Today I read a beautiful Bhojpuri poem “Shaheed.”
आज हम एगो सुघर भोजपुरी कविता "शहीद" पढ़नी।

It made me realize how powerful Bhojpuri literature is.
एहसे बुझाइल कि भोजपुरी साहित्य कतना ताकतबर बा।

We should read more in our own language.
हमनी के आपन भाषा में अउरी पढ़े के चाहीं।

Bhojpuri is not just spoken, it is deeply expressive.
भोजपुरी खाली बोले के भासा ना, बाकिर बहुत भावपूर्ण भासा हऽ।

Let’s preserve and promote our language.
आई , आपन भासा के बचाईं आ आगे बढ़ाईं।
