When was the last time we had a full tear down?

Saw a comment in another thread about all the guys that could be gone after this upcoming season, and made me wonder when the last time the team was really “gutted”. Not even in a “we are rebuilding” way but more in a “a ton of guys are coming off the books we aren’t re-signing” kind of way.

New York Islanders Free Agency Availability | Mathieu Darche

Notes:

- Lee wanted term that Darche wasn’t comfortable giving out. Happy Lee got what he wanted and deserved.

- Talks about the “young guys” again, can really tell he’s looking to get the team younger.

- On Macelli: he’s going to help us now, and if he performs well he can continue with us, will ”help our top lines and power play”

- Shabby: didn’t fit the value at this time, brought in Macelli as a replacement

- Next Summer: expects Holmstrom and Heineman to be with the team long term, will work on contracts if not this year then next. Trying to build sustainability, very focused on the “young guys”.

- Rest of summer dealings: not done working, “if I have opportunities to improve the team I will do it. Nothing we did today was affected by the cap space, if they needed it I‘d create more.“ Wants team to be competitive as young guys come up into the lineup.

- Duclair: “On our team at this moment, he’s gotta come in and take the spot he wants.” (*this does not bode well for him in my opinion*)

- Chaffee: “come and steal someone’s job, can’t have too much depth”

- Kessel: “We hope to have George there, but you can’t expect everyone to be there and you need that depth.” Gonna have guys fighting for a job, wants to bring depth to the organization and competition to the training camp.

Do you have a name for “the” slice when you finish cutting or open the box?

It’s the slice you know as soon as you open the box or finish cutting that is “the one”. I personally call it ”King Slice” but I wonder if anyone else calls it something or if I’m just being special.

Cleaning / sterilizing used Filson Tin Cloth Packer Hat?

I’m thinking of picking up a used Filson tin cloth packet hat, but hesitant to buy a used hat. Is there any way to sterilize it or clean it prior to wearing?

First time in a boat. Got too comfortable.

I found a spark plug near my spawn and decided to just beach comb until I came across a boat. Finally found one, and had a blast cruising westward, never been in a boat as I usually play solo and don’t bother but this was fun as hell. Gas light was on, but I found another boat that had more gas so I swapped boats. Continued along until I found this little lighthouse on a peninsula, with a couple houses nearby. Turned out to be Skalisty, which I’d never been on before.

Looking at the map, I figured no one would be out there. Saw another dude in a boat but no bad interactions, just went our separate ways. I love playing the PVE aspect of the game, just living in the world. So I figured I had the perfect little camp, catching mackerel, warming up, filling up on water with the pump near by. Figured I’d hang for a while, get my stats up to full and take off.

While eating mackerel in one of the houses in front of a fire, out of nowhere there is a gunshot and “you are dead” pops up. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a love/hate relationship with a game before, but this game does that to a T.

I’m working on fixing up the front of our house. We have a heavy clay soil, and water would collect near the foundation on the left of the steps, so I’m trying to direct that out towards the lawn. There is about 12” of foundation exposed, and I know I should leave 4” of space before the siding. That said, how high should I go with clean fill to create a slop to the yard? We’re going to put a garden bed in the front with flowers and a couple bushes or a small tree, so putting topsoil over the fill and lining the front with bricks or edging. Any help or advice is appreciated!

(yes, I know the stoop is sloped, I have someone coming by to shim it up to level.)
