Honestly told myself I wasn’t going to buy one since I am not a Glock guy and they are going for way too much PPT. Found this one as a new PPT for $1k and figured what the hell.
Have a ramjet on the way but might not do much more other than optic/irons & steel guide rod…maybe a brass plug.
Going to wait to see how trigger breaks in before changing it. It’s admittedly pretty rough currently. Open to any suggestions though.
Picked this P226 X5 Legion up a couple weeks ago and have already put 3k+ rounds through it. Having a blast with it and shooting it along side some of my 2011s & it’s quickly become one of my favorite shooters.
Didn’t keep up with the tracking and got a surprise delivery today for the bag and coin. Always a nice little addition by SIG to add to the collection alongside the gun.
Been posting the P226 X5 I just picked up but finally took it to the range for some Fathers Day fun. Man is that thing sweet. My initial impressions:
1.) The X5 is heavvvyyyy. You kind of realize it when first picking it up but after you put a couple hundred rounds through it and then pick up an XC it really hits you, which is kind of crazy.
2.) It’s hard to explain but I finally understand why everyone says that despite how good it shoots the recoil impulse is…different. Almost like an XC if you throw a heavy ass recoil spring in it.
3.) Haven’t tuned my trigger fully on the X5 but it’s sweet already out of the box. It’s obviously not a 2011 trigger but it’s one of the nicest triggers I have felt.
As a side note the Defender XL is really growing on me. Considering the price/durability I think it’s my choice over the SRO moving forward.
I got a month left before my first kid arrives so this was a little pre Father’s Day gift. Happy Father’s Day to the dads out there!
Finally gave in to what felt like the inevitable and bought a P226 X5 Legion. Now the inner turmoil over an optic begins & I am open to any suggestions.
As a side note, yes the ten days are bullshit and unconstitutional. But just curious…if you could pay a bail fee to take home your gun immediately what would you would be willing to pay?
