Just started using this program and have some questions!

Overall really liking this platform!

  1. Is there a way to add whole new scenarios for income, expenses, and benefits and compare them? Right now I have myself working until 50, but I am curious what will happen if my wife retires at 45, or if we both go down to part time and work until 55 etc. These scenarios will affect our DB pension too and I'd like to see how these multiple levers impact our success rate.
  2. I don't have detailed expenses because I don't track them. I do a reverse budget where I save first and spend the rest. I track the totality of my spending each month (fixed costs, vacations, emergencies, donations.... every single penny) so I know exactly how much I spend annually (I never spend more than I make). To give myself some buffer room, I took all that I spent in one year and added 20% to that and put it into the Simple Expense page. Does this sound reasonable?
  3. Because of the above, I can only estimate my slow-go and no-go years. I used 80% of peak spending for slow-go and 70% for no-go. Does this make sense?
  4. How do I add physical gold to assets? I selected "other account" in my profile but there's no option to add to that account on the assets page.
  5. Has anyone used one of the advisors on Adviice? What's your feedback?

Thank you!

p.s. What success rate to you aim for?

Recommendations for a Ayutthaya day trip tour please

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for a tour that can take me from Bangkok to Ayutthaya for a day. I would like the tour to start as early as possible, offer hotel pick up in a car with AC, and have an English speaking guide. Small group or private is ok.

Has anyone had a good experience with a tour? If so, please share!

Just fought Special Investigation Risen Shagaru for the first time...

This thing is ridiculous. The difficulty jump from AR 300 Shagaru is very noticeable. This guy is leagues above any other monster in the game.

I used a perfect guard lance set in arena and it took me 24 minutes and 1 cart. For comparison Special Investigation Risen Valstrax took me 10 min and no cart. Never has a monster made me turtle lance this much.

I'm going to try Berserk DB on him next but honestly he scares me now. What a well-designed fight.

Going in November to Bangkok -> Chiang Mai -> Krabi

Chose the Shangri-La in Bangkok, The Inside House in Chiang Mai, and stuck between either the Avani or the Hotel Adam in Ao Nang.

Avani is a bit cheaper unless it's the pool villa. The hotel is closer to Ao Nang beach (10 min walk vs 15 min to Adam). Pictures show a very nice infinity pool overlooking the cliff.

Adam is quite a bit more expensive ($100 USD a night more). There is a pool in every room which sounds nice.

Anyone stayed in either or both? How was your experience?

Very quick snapshot:

Age 39
Net worth 1.8m (1mil house, 800k invested)
HHI: 220k
Annual expense 60k
100% debt free including house

My spouse has always been a saver and she's repeatedly called herself "stingy" over the years. That behavior was helpful initially when we were poor, living in a 440 sq ft rental for 5 years making a combined $35K/yr as graduate students in Vancouver.

Now, she still doesn't spend on anything aside from essentials. We went out to dinner yesterday and she had a lot of trouble getting the $14 Tiramisu because she already spent $30 on her entrée. I said to her that we typically spend nothing during the week and her response was "well you bought 2 smile cookies this week." Those cookies were $2 each. It surprised me that those were even at the back of her mind.

I'm not trying to force her to change. It just saddens me to see her feel guilty when spending even a little bit of money. I wish she can enjoy the fruits of our labor without the guilt.

Any advice?

Home is fully paid off and I got an offer to have a HELOC set up with a big-5 bank for free. I can get 65% of the home value and the account is free to maintain.

I have no intentions to draw from the HELOC. I'm 100% debt free and will keep it that way.

Honestly the only reason I am considering it is because I heard it reduces the risk of title fraud.

Are there well-known tripping hazards I should be looking for when I comb through the agreement?

I paid off my mortgage in January at the branch.

Since then, the mortgage account has disappeared from my online profile, but I haven't gotten any documents like a land title, proof of payoff... or anything at all.

The advisor is very dismissive and makes me feel very uncomfortable. I live in a small town with one Scotiabank and one advisor. She rolls her eyes at me and shrugs her shoulders when I ask her questions. When I asked if I should be getting documents she tilted her head, started at me like I was an idiot, then said "you just wait for the mortgage department" then walked away.

What am I supposed to do? It's been 3 months of waiting...but what am I waiting for?
