My sister is officially a Rodrigues Snarker

She just texted me this completely randomly…I think she just watched the new Lily Archive video 😂

And the poem would be SEVERELY quality, unlike Ol’ Jills.

Any help with getting my variety pack to like each other?

We have a bonded pair of littermates, they’re about 6 years old, and recent started a permanent foster situation with a 14 year old cat with some medical issues. On Wednesday we’ll hit 4 weeks with him.

He’s an angel of a cat, has absolutely no issues with aggression around other cats, but he can’t see very well and has to get a little closer to see who he’s around. My tortie can tolerate him, or walk past him, at least. Her brother won’t even do that. They’re at the point where they’ll just stare at each other silently until one, usually the orange one, decides to move. At that point my boycat starts hissing and growling but doesn’t actually go to fight or anything, he just will not move.

Unfortunately, the orange cat seems to like sleeping in the hallway or on the stairs and we just realized he’s blocking litter box access. We’ve moved one of the litter boxes to a more accessible area once we realized what was going on but I did find some pee outside of the room with the litter boxes before we moved it. Hopefully this will address that issue, but I’d really appreciate any advice with getting these cats to tolerate each other, but ideally like each other.

When we added our new orange boy to the family he was kept in a separate room for a week and a half, there was a screen between them after 2 days which lasted for 2 days until the orange one figured out how to just scratch his way through it and we closed the door to his room again. Since then he’s had free rein of the house with the other cats but seems to like hanging out with me or in his room. I don’t know if we did that wrong? I thought introducing them slowly would help. The black cat and the tortie were so chill before we brought the orange boy home. I feel like I made a huge mistake with this decision but I’m not one to give up without a fight.

These old kankles

He’s new to our family, he’s 14 and the sweetest boy. He wants to participate in brushing too much for us to get the fur on his chest brushed well yet 🥰

Welcome to the family, buddy!

Introducing Milo!

He’s 14, he’s diabetic, has hyperthyroidism, poor vision, and currently has an eye infection…and he’s a perfect, amazing little angel. 💗 we’re honored to be able to give him a home for his golden years.

His previous owner passed away and he had to go to a foster home. Unfortunately, with his bad vision he’s pretty scared of loud noises and dogs, so the foster home with a very loud dog wasn’t the best environment for him. We have two other cats, a bonded pair, who were still working on introducing to him. Once we’ve given him a chance to settle in we’re going to work on that fur, it’s pretty obvious from the condition of his coat that he wasn’t doing the best with his health. Hopefully we’ll get that to change soon 💗

Enjoying some of the beauty near Gatlinburg

But not in the most common places. We tried to find some places a little less populated than Cade’s Cove so we did the motor nature trail, explored off greenbrier rd and off tremont rd…it was gorgeous and I’m missing it already

Idk how they do it

Going back to when they were living in the apartment…the kids beds being in the living room and kitchen? After a week on vacation where we stayed with family I’m left reflecting on how incredibly fucked it is that those kids had to live out there next to the onions.

My MIL has a pretty small 2 bedroom house. The bedrooms and living room aren’t big enough for us to set up an air mattress and my 10 year old requested to set hers up in the kitchen. There’s a section of it with some extra seating, it’s near the kitchen table and we just moved the extra seating to the porch for our visit. There was enough room for us to set up the twin sized air mattress but we wound up deflating it every night so the kitchen wasn’t so crowded. My daughter actually enjoyed “camping” in grandmas kitchen but now that we’re headed home she’s SO excited to be going back to her bedroom where she has her own space.

I can’t imagine how it felt to those kids back in the apartment. Like, you can’t feel like you’re permanently in a home that you belong when you have to clean up your entire existence every morning 😔

And it’s so much worse now! They have nothing that is truly and securely theirs. Not a home, not clothes, not the stuff that the internet bought them that got thrown away…no toys (plenty of protein powder and cereal????), everything in that moshelter room is probably getting tossed when they leave.

I’m just so damn sad for these kids 😔 both A kids absolutely break my heart, little A for the obvious neglect, and big A for the insane amount of parentification she’s having to deal with while not getting decent sleep or nutrition.

I understand struggling. I’m doing it myself, both financially and emotionally, but she’s got too many kids depending on her to be doing this BS.

We got stuck on a ride. It took a long time to get off the ride. Do you think it should take a long time?

My 4th grader writes like this when the assignment has a sentence requirement, how was this woman an educator? 🙄

Who would be responsible?

I'm so sorry if this isn't allowed, I'm hoping this isn't specifically legal advice as much as a clarification on how insurance companies battle out liability.

An elderly employee is working at a store in a mall and needs to use the bathroom. The bathroom in that store is under construction so the employees are instructed to use the bathroom at the closest location within the mall. While in that bathroom, the employee falls on a wet floor and realized at home that they're injured.

Would this employee need to contact the workers comp insurance for the company they work for, the insurance for the mall, or would they just need to go through their Medicare coverage and this is fully their responsibility?

If this question can't be answered without giving legal advice, I understand and will remove it. I'm just hoping to get a clarification of how liability would work so they can try to get started getting medical care for their injuries. If additional information is needed, I can do my best to clarify.

I apologize if this isn’t the right place for this but it’s a question about damage caused by trees maintained by our HOA.

The roots from one of the HOA trees next to my end unit townhome grew into the support post for my fence and caused it to fall.

I don’t know if this seems like something that they’d be responsible for because the roots obviously were on my property when it happened? I have zero hope for this not being our responsibility because HOAs suck but i figured i’d ask?
