breaking spokes on newly built wheel

I had the local bike shop build a rear wheel using my existing Chris King hub. After about 800 miles, a spoke broke, so I took it back to the shop. They replaced the spoke and trued the wheel, free of charge which seemed reasonable. Another couple weeks and 250 miles and another spoke breaks. Road bike, 28 spoke count, 700c halloy rim brake wheel. So what is going on here? Something wrong with my old hub that makes it likely to break spokes (seems unlikely to me)? Or is this shop just really bad at building wheels for someone my size? I am a pretty big boy at 100kg but I had not broken a spoke in nearly 40k miles on the old wheel.
