Is it normal i have to turn the gain all the way up?

I’ve been dealing with this issue for a long time and I still can’t figure out what’s wrong.

When I set my amp gain to around 40%, my subwoofer barely moves and produces almost no bass. To get any decent output, I have to turn the gain up to around 80% and also use about half bass boost, which doesn’t feel right.

At first I thought the problem was my head unit, so I upgraded to a JBL Celebrity 150 (4V pre-out), but the issue stayed the same.

Then I suspected my amplifier might be underpowered. It’s a 4-channel amp rated at 65W RMS per channel. I’m currently using: 2 channels for my front speakers (100W RMS speakers), 2 channels bridged for my subwoofer (300W RMS sub)

Specs:

Amp: ESX SXE100.4

Subwoofer: Renegade RXV1200

Head unit: JBL Celebrity 150

Is this likely a gain setting / wiring issue, or is something mismatched in my setup? Any help would be appreciated.

Why is everything so wrong with my sound system? I need help

Look i truly dont know almost anything about sound systems but i recently got a subwoofer and 2 front speakers and tweeters.

My friend plugged the two speakers on my amp chanel 1 and 2 but somehow my subwoofer also was working even if it wasnt connected?

At first everything was so quiet then i set the gain to the max and it became a bit louder probably like stock speakers but the problem was the sub was somehow working just also producing vocals and such and accually it was kinda painfull like it didnt hit at all it just felt like pressure building up on my ear drums and little vibrations around. What should i do? I am dissapointed so much.

Please help me and any question and photos i will send let me know.
