Help with getting cat to sleep in his own cat bed
So I’ve recently gotten my cat his own bed (he’s about 7 years old) and he seems to really like it after getting used to it but he’ll only sleep in it if it’s on MY bed. I did it for awhile to get him comfortable with it and get my scent on it maybe but whenever I put it on the floor near my bed he loses all interest. There was a couple nights when my bf slept over and my cat actually did sleep in his bed on the floor but for the past few months he hasn’t touched it. I put it back on my bed again to get him interested in it again but he was very hesitant at first and seemed kinda scared to go in it for some reason? He’s fine now and is currently passed out in it but how do I get him to sleep in it for good without it being on my bed? My bf is allergic even tho he’s very understanding of how much I love my cat but I wanted to do this so my bf could be more comfortable and so my cat can still be comfortable as well. Any ideas?
