Me and my (and my sister's share) mare used to have a rivalry..now she's so loveable with me

Lots of treats, grooming sessions, and big piles of alfalfa later..

Last two pics are from over a year ago

I'll give it to her, she got ulcers so she didn't feel great but this girl was MEAN, very food aggressive

Claire was great for our ride this morning! (And rolled immediately after)

She got quite sweaty because it's pretty humid here

Do this bell boots fit my horse?

I've never had a horse need bell boots 24/7 so this is all new to me!

These are not to prevent shoe pulling, my mare just has a big trot and clips her front heels a lot. She hasn't had a big injury -yet- but she has skinned the fur off her right front before

Just checking fit :) I feel like they're a little bit big but I'm not sure as she had a pair of tough-1 ones and they lasted about a week before a piece of the rubber chipped off, and they didn't cover her heel fully. These feel much better quality so I'm hoping they last longer but they also need to fit her lol!

Advice appreciated! My farrier said she just has a big stride, so we went to bell boots. (Though she clips significantly more when her hooves are due)

My horses..with things on their heads/ears

The bay is my sister's late gelding who was 30, and the grey is 28, so that is why they both have poor muscling (the geldings weight was a struggle, he was underweight but not emaciated one bit)

Introducing my horse to this sub ✨

This is Claire! She is a very silly half arab (asb is her other half)

She's 10 years old and lives with her aunt (yes, biologically) Burlesque. We do walk trot western riding as of now, but I hope to do low-key gaming classes when she's more trained (I am working with a trainer)

Junie!

New puppy, she was an accidental litter (which some may not agree with, I know) and they wanted to re-home the pups to a good home.

She was one of the last few who fell through with a few people and so they were rehoming her for free to a good home. We already have an acd x aussie girl who needs someone to match her energy, because the lab gets sick of her. We are moving soon to a 5 acre place where everyone can run as much as they want.

Junie is a Bernese mountain dog x acd and she is the sweetest and smartest puppy we've had! Just wanted to post her here for everyone to see

(Please don't say anything unkind about her original owner, as they truly love their dogs and are getting dad neutered asap.)

Does my horse look good weight wise? I'm always paranoid so just checking!

She uh-gets plenty of treats..

I think she looks healthy compared to this time last year (very overweight hippo) but then sometimes I feel like she looks fat, and other times she looks a bit thin.

I've been trying so hard getting this horse to be fit and healthy, and every once in awhile I get paranoid about it (like right now) my trainer and vet say she looks good and I do trust that but she is quite round.

She is in 3-4 days a week work usually, sometimes 5-6, rarely 0-2. She just does walk/trot work, nothing extensive

What would you rate her on a bcs?

Gentle advice please, I'm just looking to ease my ever-changing mind. Pics are most recent-august 2025

May I see your goofiest horse pics?

I few of my girls for tax ✨ (I have many more but I can only upload 20 💔)

As you can tell my chestnut is much sillier than my grey

Just proud of my girl!

Context: my mare used to be really nervous and not confident in herself when riding, or on the trails. I used to take her out on foot and she would trample me trying to get away from things. She also used to be very looky and spook at things outside the arena

These last few days my girl has been so quiet and willing to do anything I ask her, and today we went on our first real trail ride (usually we just walk around her pasture) and she only looked at a couple things. She was SO good and I'm very happy with her progress! I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer has to hold for us 💜 also, recently I trotted bareback for the first time in my riding career on her and she was very well behaved

Chestnuts and white flecking

Why do chestnuts get white flecks?

I personally love my mares flecks and she gets more every year but I was curious! Because almost every "solid" chestnut I've seen has white flecks

Genetics nerds come forward!
