WPW Health Tracker
Hey everyone 👋
My name is Zaib. My son Elian was diagnosed with WPW shortly after birth and was hospitalized at just a few weeks old. Like many of you, those first weeks were terrifying — monitoring every heartbeat, managing medications, trying to remember every dose, every episode, every question the cardiologist asked that we scrambled to answer.
Elian is on Flecainide three times a day. My wife Hosai and I kept missing the small stuff — who gave the last dose, what time exactly, what was his behavior like during that episode last Tuesday? When we'd go to cardiology appointments we were pulling from memory and it never felt like enough.
So I built something.
During my parental leave I put together a simple app just for us — it tracks Elian's medications, logs episodes with notes and timestamps, tracks feeds and general daily observations, and has an AI assistant that actually understands WPW and can help us make sense of patterns over time. Before appointments I can pull up a full history and actually show the doctor something useful.
It's been a game changer for our family and I started wondering — would something like this help other WPW and SVT families too?
Before I build this out further I wanted to ask this community a few questions:
- How are you currently tracking medications and episodes? (Notes app, spreadsheet, memory?)
- What's the hardest part of managing your child's condition day to day?
- Would an app like this — built specifically for cardiac kids — be something you'd actually use?
- What features would matter most to you?
I'm not selling anything. I'm a dad who built something out of necessity and I want to know if it could help other families going through the same thing.
Elian is doing well. Sending love to everyone in this community. 🧡
