The craziest football story I've ever researched: a World Cup qualifier that helped trigger a war

while researching football history, I came across the 1969 conflict between El Salvador and Honduras.

the media often calls it "The Football War," but the reality is much more complex than two nations fighting over a match.

I made a short documentary covering the political tensions, the World Cup qualifiers, and how football became the catalyst for one of the strangest conflicts in sports history.

I'd love to hear what other unbelievable football stories people know.
