Most of my friends are going to college or unis and idk what to do in my gap year i mean sure I can work and volunteer. But how can I be more social and meet new ppl?

I am planning to go to mcmaster next year if I do get accepted. But the thing is my friendships with ppl lowkey fell apart and I can tell I will prob be lonely in gap year tbh i was exited to meet new ppl in uni but unfortunately i wont be going this year. Did anyone else go through this and then make friends in uni? Should I stop worrying abt friendships and just focus on work, and studies during my gap year?

Hey so I am taking a gap year since I am finishing hs. Also I wont be coming back to hs and will only be taking online classes and such. Me and my friends rn have drama going on and I feel like I am going to be lonely in my gap. But how to make new friends? Also I am 18f and cant rlly go to bars and yeah.
