Kroo have marked my account in arrears when it is not, help?

I have a Kroo current account (not my main account), I have an overdraft, which I am currently using.

I make regular payments into it, including the monthly interest for the use of the overdraft. In the last month I have transferred approximately £700 in to the account, which is significantly more than the total of the overdraft facility.

I had an email a week ago telling me I hadn’t made any payments in over 90 days. Not true. Just to be on the safe side I shunted some money over into the account anyway, as I didn’t want them mistakenly reporting my account as in arrears.

I tried to contact them in the app, to no avail (as in no actual responses, just automated stuff or “please bear with us” nonsense)

I phoned them on Monday and spoke to someone who told me my account wasn’t showing as being in arrears on their side, but that someone from the “correct team” would contact me “shortly” to confirm all was ok, and that this was likely a system error.

Lo and behold this morning, I get another email telling me my account has been reported as in arrears to CRAs, when it categorically is not.

Kroo are not helping at all, what can I do?

Confusion around speeds available

Openreach is finally available where I live, and I am very much looking forward to escaping the tyranny of Virgin Media.

Wholesale checker shows only one FTTP product (1000mbps), and no XGS-PON capability, but EE & Vodafone are suggesting I could get 1.6gbps. And that’s once I confirm my full address.

They’re talking out their collective arses right?

The other thing which concerns me slightly is that the checker also says this “Single Dwelling Unit Residential OH Feed with no anticipated issues.”

Which, I’m happy they don’t foresee any issues, however, we had an aborted YouFibre install a few years ago, because of high voltage cables that would have interfered with the install, and I don’t know if this would likely be an issue with any openreach install as well.

I finally had one of those super lucky FB marketplace finds

As any UK based rockhound will know, our options for reasonably priced equipment here are somewhat slim.

So imagine my delight when I came across someone selling a sturdy looking tumbler pretty cheap on FB marketplace.

An hours drive, five of your British pounds a bit of a clean and some oiling later, I am now the proud owner of a ln HC Evans & Son (who I think became Beach Evans, I’m not sure) Junior Tumbler (and a whole set of grits and some plastic media!).

The year on the manual says 1989, so it’s nearly as old as I am 😂

It had belonged to the chaps wife, who had sadly passed away a few years ago, there was a bunch of rocks in the barrel that looked like they’d been through stage 1, so I think that it’s only fitting that I finish this batch off for her first.

Some lovely fluorescent minerals

On holiday in Brittany, France at the moment, and stopped off at “Maison des Mineraux” (read: dragged a protesting partner and her mother with me…) and thought people would enjoy some photos I took in one of the exhibits.

(Tagged multi wave as not sure what they were using for display)

PSA: Please be careful visiting WellAppointedDesk website, currently there is malware on site

I have contacted the site owner to let them know, but also wanted to let potential site visitors know as well.

The site currently appears to be compromised and a false recaptcha is presented to users which then prompts them to run a powershell command which will run and execute a script from a remote location.

Pretty common malware/ransomware attack vector, but a sneaky one nonetheless.
