Cutting Hours

New SD has told all departments to cut hours. I don't get it considering we have a call out almost daily. Like...isn't that enough, especially in DUG where picks are generated by man hours.

Numerous people stay late or work overtime to get these picks done. We're almost always brushing up against lateness or being late on orders.

Yeah, maybe one day a week we get a respite but most of the time you come in and pick until you clock out.

I don't know how this department is supposed to trim hours. It feels insane to ask. If anything we should be getting more not fewer.

Out of stocks

Like some of you our manager has cracked down on OOS items. We're supposed to never oos or sub an item without PIC approval. No, not even the DUG Lead can sub or oos because this company is dumb AF.

For awhile I was just "prep not readying" everything and letting DUG Lead figure it out. Now I'm told to not do that because the Lead doesn't have the time.

I'm supposed to find the SD/ASD/PIC every time. We're a busy store with 150 orders and 4000~ pieces daily. Keeping up with oos is, dead serious, a full time position.

This is an entirely unreasonable policy for DUG to hold. It is not realistically doable and if anyone disagrees please explain.

Lately I've gone back to just not giving a fuck and subbing everything and letting the customer deny the subs. My Lead says to not do this. None of this makes sense to me.

Solutions?

"Better Together" Associate App

I was pretty ecstatic to see the "Better Together Associate App" was up and running and included a schedule. I've been using it for the past 5 weeks and other than having to be sent a text message code every time to get in, it's been seamless....until this week.

I put my schedule in my Google calendar every week using the app. I didn't think I worked Friday, logged in Thursday night to check next week's schedule (unavailable yet, go figure) at 10 PM, and saw I worked Friday at 5 a.m.. "huh" I thought "maybe I missed it?" I thought maybe it was my bad.

Then I went to check again Friday night for next week's schedule and noticed my Saturday shift wasn't listed. I called the store to confirm I was working, thinking I was going mad, and they confirmed I was even though the app didn't display it.

In short, I was a fool to trust anything IT related in regards to Safeway. I'll be going back to looking at the paper schedule.

2015 Patriot Cam Shaft Sensor.

3 year owner.

Year 1. (Edit- Crank Shaft Sensor) went out. Car would sometimes stall, sometimes go into Limp Mode. Took some trouble shooting, got it figured out, cheap fix.

Year 2. Crank Shaft Sensor goes out again. Got it fixed. Again.

Year 3. Going around turns the lightning bolt icon comes up and the vehicle loses some power before regaining it. Looks like 3 years in row I'm replacing the damned Crank Shaft Sensor!

It's cheap. It's easy. But what gives? Is there a way I can permanently fix this and avoid a yearly replacement? Wth is going on?

This week has been crazy.

Starting last Saturday, June 27th it's been a madhouse. Friday the 26th I closed and had picked 10~ orders for Saturday. Saturday I close and have a whacky 5-10 shift and get called in 4 hours early. No other employee had called out, I had picked 10 orders for the day the previous night, I'm getting called in and we're 2 hours behind.

I think Tuesday was chill. I closed Thursday and picked until 9:30 just to clear out the day. Like, it wasn't a flash that came in, I was picking from the normal list until 9:30. Then the weekend happened which we all can cry over if we wish. And yesterday we had 6 employees until 7 which is very late for so many and we were still picking through 8.

Our Lead is taking an emergency vacation just to deal with the stress of this week. Which is totally understandable. Everyone else can...just deal with it, I guess?

Some notes:

It sucks to be behind and hear ANY CHIME WHATSOEVER . For a busy store like ours we don't need to be told a new order is due in 90 minutes: WE FUCKING KNOW. Make it stop. We were an hour behind yesterday and this went off THREE TIMES IN THE SAME MINUTE. WHY?!?! What fucking information do you think you're relaying to us, you lunatics? We have 11 people picking, what could we possibly need this information for?

The company needs to develop a policy on takeouts rather than "whoever can take it out, should". It's fucking ridiculous we're on year 7 of this and the company seemingly has no direction on takeouts. Interrupting everyone's pick for "arriving soon" is insane and isn't a policy. One of those things that demonstrates the higher ups clearly haven't done this.

Absolute shitshow today.

I came in at 1 and saw we had 20 orders. This is bearable with 7 people working.

40 minutes later we had 27. Then 30. Then 33.

It just kept going up.

I've said it before (check my post from February) that I hate holidays and customers shouldn't be ordering shit. Time to clock off at 5. Boss insinuated I should stay to help out the team (I feel this. I do.) and I told her "Look, any other day, sure. But God's honest truth, if people don't get their groceries on holidays I don't give a rat's ass. If we all went home right now I wouldn't care. It's father's day. Fuck these entitled people."

Tomorrow? No. I'm all in for excellent customer service...tomorrow. I love my customers but Superbowl Sunday, July 4th, Valentines Day, Mother's Day, etc, etc everyone can go to hell. I literally give zero fucks on these days.

You wanna come in for beer and hotdogs? Be my guest. 15 items or less then GTFO. You wanna shop for your entire week on the holiday? No. Leave. We don't want you here. We want to go home just like you.

I hope 30 people don't get their groceries today. Fuck, I hope *no one does*. I hope they go home and take a good long look in the mirror and ask themselves "am I being inconsiderate today?"

Yes. Yes you are.

Dead Guns and Loadouts?

Console player here:

What's a load out or gun you used to see with frequency and now you never really see it at all? Why do you think that is?

Here's mine:

Vandal + Romero Hatchet

This used to be one of the most common pairings to see in mid-tier lobbies. Free Hunters came with this load out all the time. I think the reduced cost of Legendary Hunters and no longer getting randomized traits with them, made getting Free Hunters significantly less desirable. The events also shove money into the eco-system making dirt cheap weapons less necessary than ever.

Add in that medium shotguns are less popular than ever (another post) and the Vandal having better competition than it did 2+ years ago (Hello Centennial Shorty) the Vandal + Romero Shorty feels like a dead load out.

What is the most Flash orders you've seen in a day?

The title is sorta it. What is the highest quantity of flash orders you *KNOW* you've seen?

What is the highest quantity you've seen active at once? (That is, the system *CURRENTLY* has "X" amount of Flash orders pending?)
