People generally say 4x2x2 but that is also the bare minimum recommendation from what I've seen. Is bigger always better? Would a 6x3x3 (for example, I'm not sure of actual sizes available) actually be better, or do people just recommend 4x2x2 because they're easier to find? Also, if I want to decorate with driftwood, would planks or sticks be better, or a mix of both? I'm really intrigued with the idea of a bearded dragon, and generally other lizards, but I was also considering some type of snake. Which would you pick and why, and if you were to pick a snake, which type? I'm already researching various lizards but I'm open to more suggestions

I'm interested in getting a lizard and was wondering which would be most recommended as a first-time lizard owner. I was also wondering what's the recommended size for a vivarium, as different sources say different sizes so I'm a bit confused. I have a reasonable amount of floor and vertical space, so I'm open to any and all recommendations. I've looked a bit at leopard and crested geckos as those seem to be good "starter" lizards, but I'm curious to find out about any other types of lizards. I'd also quite like to have a more decorated vivarium, I've seen a few that I like the look of when i search up crested gecko enclosures, but I was curious if there are any other recommendations, and I was also wondering how much I could expect everything to cost, as I'm planning on saving up some money, but I just need a general ballpark figure to start planning everything out.
