The day before the renters rights act came in the letting agency said that the landlords are raising the rent (about 4% increase) due to there being increased expenses. Over the past year that we’ve lived there, there have been loads of problems to the house which needed essential fixes e.g. roof leaking, drains blocked, doors not closing properly, locks broken. We’ve not asked for anything else than what’s essential repairs, but it’s cost a lot. Now they’re saying that because they’ve had to spend so much money on repairs, they want to increase the rent. I get that they can do this anyway, but it’s in writing that this is their reason. Can I challenge this? We’ve had so many problems with the house because of the condition it’s in and have waited over a year for some repairs to take place, so now to ask us to pay for that is a huge kick in the teeth and upsetting. It’s their house, so I don’t know why they’re telling us to pay for the repairs. There are also still outstanding essential repairs that haven’t been done - we raised when we moved in over a year ago!

I know this has been spoken about extensively and I think the reason for that is that Daisy and Hannah being sisters IS the fundamental magic of the story. Gilead rips families apart, produces siblings without them knowing (e.g. if two children are from the same mother handmaid), and constantly changes families (commanders always getting new wives). In the book, the fact that a family then came together against all odds and brought down Gilead is what makes the story so good.

I feel like the producers just felt like they needed a teen story to get viewers, but by doing so they ripped out the core. For the life of me I can’t understand why they didn’t keep them as sisters and just have Hannah in her mid twenties and Daisy as Daisy. Obviously I’m still going to watch every episode but I can’t get over it. Since I found out I’ve found the show quite underwhelming.

I cancelled my membership last month, yet this morning I've seen a pending membership payment out of my bank account. I can't login to the member area anymore to check it. Who do I contact?
