Riverside 120 vs Triban RC100

I visited the Decathlon store after reading all positive about Riverside 120. But in the store the sales rep is pushing me to go for Triban RC 100 by saying that riverside is a very beginner model and it has some issues with brakes and etc.

As I am buying a good cycle for the first time, I couldn't make out anything. Please help me choose one. The prices are Riverside 120 is 12k, and RC 100 is 21k. He gave me a feeling that with a budget of 10-15k, I can't get a decent bicycle.
