Worst Experience Ever Buying a Car

I’m in the middle of what I think is the worst car buying experience of my life. My wife and I realized my electric Mustang wasn’t a good fit for the family anymore so I traded it in to Carvana. Bought an SUV and hours after it was delivered I noticed fluid all over my driveway. I suspected it was a transmission leak and indeed it was. The service shop fought to get authorization to drop the pan to check for metal in the fluid and they found a massive amount.

Fast forward to today when I’m supposed to get my exchange (they wouldn’t authorize a transmission replacement even if I wanted to wait) and they text me with a week long delay because the battery is dead and needs to be replaced. A week?! For a battery that needs no special tools or coding to the ECU.

Neither Carvana corporate or the local distribution hub where my car is have been even close to helpful in terms of making my experience “right.” All they could do was say sorry this and sorry that. So now I’m still out a car for another week; it’ll have been almost a month after all is said and done.

I said there were two options i could see for making this right if you can’t fix the battery for a week. Either send my trade in money to my bank account today or tomorrow or waive the shipping fee on a car that I’d buy instead. They said no to both options. Apparently it’ll take a week and half to have a check delivered to me if i want a refund.

Such an ungodly horrible experience.

Racquet Recommendations - Getting Back to Tennis

I’m getting back into tennis after a six-ish year hiatus and need some racquet recommendations based on how my game/body has changed. I played for 10 years with the gen 1 Head Speed Pro (335g 98sq) and played as a 4.0. I took a break when my kids were born and I’ve noticed in terms of my forehand practice with my Lobster that the racquet isn’t working for me anymore.

I’m not generating as much swing speed and snap as I used to. I’ve never liked racquets that deliver the power for me, so I’m likely looking for a control racquet that helps me get a bit more swing speed. I use an eastern grip and hit pretty flat forehands.

Any suggestions would be super appreciated! Hopefully what I wrote all made sense - not looking to get roasted or told “just get better” or some tennis equivalent of the Simpson’s comic store guy (“well actually you’re wrong about the square inch on your SP, it’s actually 100sq and why were you using a 335g racquet”)

The only new racquet I’ve tried so far was the Tecnifibre Fire 305S with Biphase X2 strings at 52 and it felt too power-oriented and I was hitting way too deep.

I’ve had Ocarina of Time in various versions since the November it came out in 1998. I’ve never beat the game before tonight. I’ve picked up this game so many times in the past and never played it through. The furthest I have ever been is Gerudo Fortress, not because I lost interest but because I’ve had undiagnosed ADHD until two years ago when I turned 42. Stealth sections of games when I was a kid were brutal and I didn’t have the patience to figure them out.

I’m honestly a little emotional right now because this is one of those “if only” or “what if” moments that adult-diagnosed ADHD people struggle with. It’s hard to look back at your childhood and wonder, “what could have been different had I known and been treated”? This is a silly one compared to thinking about school, careers, and relationships, but it’s a bittersweet milestone nonetheless.
