Hiking near Wateton in late May

I just planned a last minute trip for the last weekend of May - staying at The Prince of Wales Hotel. I realize it's still cold, wintery, and not the ideal hiking season. I just had a free weekend haven't been to Alberta yet so I figured why not?! I love, love, love exploring places during shoulder seasons.

What are the best hiking options (maybe within 45 min drive) that are doable this time of year? They can be big, small, any suggestions. I've done some research on google and have gotten a lot of conflicting suggestions so I wanted to come to the source of knowledge!

Are there any other must-see or must-do things around that area? I'm going to spend a few nights down at Lake McDonald in the US on my way out of town so I will hit the US side of Glacier at that point.

I’ve recently realized I have some natural curl to my hair after using a curling iron for 15+ years. I can’t tell if this is the beginning of my “before” and “after” journey, or if this is what my hair just looks like. I have no idea if my routine is what my hair actually needs, or if I’m trying to force a curl pattern that may not actually be there.

My current routine:

Maria Nila Luminous Color Care shampoo - every 3-4 days

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoo - once every other week or so

Dove intensive repair conditioner or Kenra color care conditioner each time I shampoo. I alternate between the two.

I brush with a wide tooth comb in the shower and immediately put it into a microfiber towel when exiting the shower. Scrunch some of the water out before putting it in the towel.

I leave it in the towel for 20 to 30 minutes. I remove the towel, don’t touch my hair, and let it air dry for a while longer. After that, I have been spraying Eva NYC bounce back cruel reviving mist on wet sections and diffusing on low speed.

After it’s mostly dry via diffuser, I spray one more round of Eva NYC or not your mother’s beach babe.

This is actually my day three hair that I have slept on twice. I sleep on a silk pill pillowcase, and I have tried sleeping with my hair down, but pulled up above my head and up in a very loose bun. I think it did look a little better on day one. I have a hard time reviving them as well in the morning no matter how I sleep. I’ve been using the same Eva NYC spray along with a spray, water bottle and diffusing a bit.

I would love any tips, feedback and suggestions. I’d also want some straightforward feedback on how my hair looks today. If this is just how it looks when I scrunch it, does it look carefree and whimsical, or is it just messy and I should go back to the curling iron?
