Garmin Fenix Series vs Enduro 3 vs Epix Pro vs COROS Apex 4
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for my first serious sports/outdoor watch and I'm currently considering:
- Garmin Fenix Series
- Garmin Enduro 3 (51mm)
- Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2 (47/51mm)
- COROS Apex 4 (46mm)
My main uses will be:
- Marathon training/running
- Gym/strength training
- Hiking/trekking
- Snowboarding (5-10 times/year including backcountry)
- Cycling/swimming
- Future alpine mountaineering/camping
- 24/7 wear, including sleep tracking
I also tried on the Epix 51mm at the store myself, the watch did seem heavy and I wasn't that comfortable with it. I am not sure, but maybe I would get used to it if I wear it 24/7.
The Apex 4 seems to cover most of my needs with great battery life and a lighter design, while Garmin seems stronger in ecosystem, health/training features, navigation and outdoor/ski features.
My main question: Is it actually worth spending more on the Fenix Series or Enduro 3, or even the Epix Pro, for my use case? Are the extra features something I'd realistically benefit from, or would Apex 4 be enough?
I'd especially love to hear from anyone who has used both Garmin and COROS for similar activities.
Which would you choose in my position, and why?
