The search for Steve Shoenholt (happy ending)

During the chaos of the terrorist attacks, ABC News correspondent John Quiñones was reporting on the street, interviewing a distraught family frantically looking for Steve Shoenholt. Steve ran a delicatessen inside one of the World Trade Center towers and had called his wife earlier to say the building was being evacuated. However, communication cut off, and his family feared the worst as the towers collapsed. While the mother and wife was making another desperate phone call to try and find Steve, the daughter screams out of nowhere "Daddy!!!" and Steve by the grace of God appears. This is definitely one of the happier stories from 9/11

CBS News veteran anchor & reporter Daniel Rather crying on David Letterman

On September 17, 2001, David Letterman came back on air after his show was suspended during the 24-hour news cycle. The guest was CBS News anchor Dan Rather, and Regis Philbin. After 6 straight days of Rather covering the attacks, and only sleeping for limited hour at a time not getting time to reflect on his own, he broke down quoting the song "American the Beautiful"

Daphne Carlisle

Daphne Carlisle is a 9/11 survivor who narrowly escaped the 82nd floor of the North Tower during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. At the time, she was a 42-year-old administrative assistant for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. While working on the 82nd floor, Carlisle saw the actual shadow of American Airlines Flight 11's wing pass by her office window a split second before it struck the building just above her on the 93rd floor. She and a coworker immediately began walking down the emergency stairwells, managing to descend dozens of flights of stairs to reach the ground level. Just as Carlisle and her coworker reached the building's lobby, the South Tower (2 World Trade Center) collapsed next door. The impact plunged the North Tower lobby into pitch darkness, filling it with heavy debris and crushing forces. Trapped in the dark, Carlisle began praying loudly. Her voice was heard by FDNY firefighters Girard Owens and John Morabito, who were navigating the wreckage. The two firefighters pulled Carlisle and another civilian, Muyiwa Onigbogi, out of the debris. Together, the group of four managed to flee the building just moments before the North Tower collapsed completely, making them among the very last people to escape the tower alive.

Interview with N.J. Burkett, WABC-TV Eyewitness News

Peter Jennings ABC World News Tonight 9/11/2001 broadcast

21 years ago, legendary ABC News anchor & reporter Peter Jennings died at the age of 67 to lung cancer. On 9/11 from the time, he got at the anchor desk at 09:11 am EST time Jennings' anchored ABC News' coverage for 16 hours straight, and guiding millions through the chaos of America Being Under Attack. Alongside Tom Brokaw on NBC News, and Daniel Rather on CBS News, Jennings was part of the "Big 3" network news anchors whose broadcast defined how America witnessed the events of 9/11. Rather than CNN & Fox News having multiple anchors from various programs, for NBC News, CBS News, and ABC News it was primary the big 3 anchors. Here is some footage from ABC World News Tonight from 9/11.

Don Wright, eyewitness to the pentagon on ABC News

Don Wright was a key eyewitness featured in ABC News's historic broadcast. At 10:05 am, the late great Peter Jennings threw to him on the phone live on air. He was in his office on the 12th floor of 1600 Wilson BLVD in Rosslyn, VA watching ABC News coverage of the Trade Centre disaster. He observed the aircraft flying incredibly low over the trees, dipping down right over Interstate 395 and slamming into the pentagon. He witnessed the crash of Flight 77 into the pentagon. He Initially described the plane coming from the south and looking similar to a 2-engine commuter plane.

Rare WABC-TV coverage from September 12, 2001

From the early evening of September 12th, 2001, around the time of a collapse scare in Ground Zero. Sadly, this recording is incomplete but the only copy I can source of this.

https://reddit.com/link/1vgxa7n/video/j680ie24iphh1/player

I sourced this tape from Gregory Golda on Youtube, who upload a bunch of tapes of TV Coverage from 9/11 and the days after, he was in a Connecticut TV market that carried Connecticut and New York channels. His tapes are multi hour tapes of various channel surfing. Very interesting footage that I am not sure anyone has seen here.

Julie M. Geis, AON Corporation

Julie was the senior vice president of AON Corporation in the South Tower (the same place Kevin Cosgrove worked) who died in the 9/11 attacks. She also was a key figure in the Kansas City none profit "Voice".

Becky Loath, best friend of Julie interviewed by Elizabeth Cohen on CNN evening of 9/13/2001

What breaks me about her story specifically is that in the CNN interview above, Becky is showing so much hope that she's alive, and that they were going to Hawaii in January 2002.

CNN Reporter Elizabeth Cohen interviewing people with missing posters Sept 13 2001

For around 20 minutes CNN Reporter Elizabeth Cohen was at the Armory reporting live and interviewing loved ones of missing people who sadly perished. Elizabeth showed so much empathy here, breaking down live on air this footage made me cry. As someone who wants to be a news reporter and a journalist, I wish more people recognized the human aspect of reporting horrific events like 9/11, like the iraq war, like anything that is traumatic. I've seen a lot of crap in my days, I just pray these family's found peace.

Rudolph Giuliani on Letterman after 9/11

Rudolph Giuliani appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman on September 24, 2001, shortly after the September 11 attacks. During the episode, the mayor discussed what his day was like when the Twin Towers fell, while Letterman highlighted the immense courage of the city's first responders. I sourced a high-quality copy of this interview from Oakley Tapes on Internet Archive, the source was a 480p file, and I enhanced it to 1080p 60fps progressive and enhanced the audio to the best of my skills. Please enjoy it.

Aired on CBS News September 24th, 2001

I uploaded the full interview here:

Rudy is a POS in today's perspective, but during this brief time he was a good leader of NYC, and he was "America's Mayor".

Michael Hazerkhani CNN Footage

Michael Hazerkhani filmed probably the most well-known angel of Flight 175, but I never seen his full footage until I sourced this. Filmed from a ferry that has a few other known angles, a famous photograph taken by Carmen Taylor, video that shows the plane approaching from a distant and the impact by Kevin Westley and Frans Van Vianen

I'm not 100 percent sure if this is the "Full footage" but it is an extended cut as to what I've seen before I found this.

Video has been upscaled to 1080p 60fps progressive.
