Footage from the initial impact recorded by camera man David Stollak for Fox 5 in New York (WNYW). The camera was at rest during the commercial break Fox 5 went into 1 minute prior, in the background of the videotape you can hear American Airlines Flight 11 crash into the North Tower. After about a minute of reporter Dick Oliver calling to the control room for them to cut to breaking news, and to their live shot Fox 5 broadcasted the first live pictures after the towers were hit, broadcasting live at 8:48 am.

Richard Vincent Oliver Jr. (Dick Oliver) died on November 11, 2016, in hospice care in Manhattan after a stroke he suffered in September of 2016.

The lobby core local elevators (9 => 40) corridor (WTC 1) pre 9/11 and during 9/11
IIRC, this is the place where fuel poured down the #6-7 express and the 50 freight elevators in WTC1, killing numerous people waiting for a local elevator to the lower zones.
The #6-7 cars were stopped below the lobby for maintenance, giving a clear shot for the fuel to explode here.
The #50 service shaft was hit later as its passengers managed to flee just before the car burned down after dropping all the way to the bottom, saved by the emergency brakes.
In the second picture during 9/11 you can see the burned sign and active sprinklers at the exact same place.
I was watching 9/11 videos from the immediate aftermath of the attacks and stumbled upon this, it’s about people obtaining death certificates for victims.
It was heartbreaking to see it was Melissa’s mother after hearing her call and her final message to her: “tell her she was the best mother a person could have, and that I love her with all my heart and soul… and I will see her in the next world.”

This Fourth of July marks Christine’s 64th birthday, a day she deserved to be here to celebrate.
She was the Assistant General Manager of Windows on the World, the restaurant located on the 106 and 107 floors in WTC 1. She was incredibly well liked and deeply respected by her staff. A tireless worker, Christine often put in long hours at the restaurant and became the “key troubleshooter and coordinator of all special projects.” She was knowledgeable in every department that Windows had to offer, meaning anyone could go to her for guidance or help.
On that fateful September morning, Christine arrived at work far earlier than scheduled to help out with a breakfast conference. She wasn’t supposed to be there when Flight 11 struck. Christine and several other managers immediately stepped up, trying to organize an escape. As the elected fire warden, Christine was responsible for helping more than 100 guests and employees evacuate safely. She did everything she could.
So wherever you are on this patriotic day, remember to raise a glass to Christine. She enjoyed celebrating with Veuve Clicquot, but any adult beverage will suffice. Her friends liked to joke that she would be watching, and would be livid if anyone forgot!

IQ financial systems was located on floor 83 tower 2. They lost 4 workers that day Melissa Doi, David Rathkey, Karen Schmidt and Courtney Wainsworth Walcott.
Melissa’s 911 phone call was the first to be released to the public.
