What restaurant owners didn’t deserve GR’s help?

I’ve just watched the Iberville Cuisine (USA Series 9, ep 1 and 2) and I’m infuriated at the owners’ attitude. Husband and wife team who seemingly decided to run a restaurant with zero experience or care for the industry. She spends all her time on her phone in the back, he pops up every now on then to do a ‘to camera’ bit about how having a restaurant is his dream, but otherwise does bugger all to contribute. They’ve hired an ex Plumber to be the chef and the perfectly capable wait staff don’t always get paid for their work, or if they do it’s like $40 a day. I feel like they’re rich people who bought it on a whim to play with, somewhere that the husband can chill and play his piano.

And now they get Gordon in to design a new menu, refurb the restaurant, bring in a famous Football player to give a pep talk, and have a professional chef help out on the kitchen!

If you don’t have the first clue about running a restaurant, DON’T BUY A RESTAURANT.

Phew, rant over 😂

What other eps made you feel this way??

Sequel Vs Reboot

Inspired by a separate thread! How do we differentiate between a sequel vs a reboot? I’d say a reboot needs to come years after the original, and have a new cast. Bonus points for including cameos of original cast members. Sequel needs to come quickly after the original, and maybe continue the original plot line to an extent? All original cast, maybe some new characters?
