My mom keeps guilting tripping me about sfe funds, I’ve already sent her £500 and she wants £500 more. I’m lucky I got max loan but I’m confused on whether she’s gonna help pay it back. She keeps calling me selfish and disrespectful for not wanting to give her that much. Idrk what to do

Can anyone Nigerian/african share their experiences of it’s similar and maybe you could offer some valuable advice?

My mums not a criminal guys! Yes she has her bad flaws but she’s not horrible, I don’t agree with her taking the money and will have a talk with her but please stop with the unkind things about my mom :)

Genuinely why are non black people obsessed with us?

As a black girl we are constantly talked about and brought up, for no reason aswell. when a random guy says he hates black girls and how we aren’t his type, I’m like okay? Who said we liked you? They always just assume we’re desperate for any sort of attention because they don’t deem black women as attractive.

Also just the racism aspect aswell, why do people just love bringing up black people? Even when we have absolutely nothing to do with the situation, they hate us yet they copy everything we do. It’s so strange, nowadays they’re so vocal about their hatred for us yet they never seem to leave us alone.

Now some non black women think we’re in competition with them or they think we’re jealous of them and in so confused? Is it black men telling them that? Why would I be jealous? Why would I be bitter? If I was jealous of another woman (never will I be, that’s so immature) it’d most definitely be a black woman.

Also with the colourism aspect, I didn’t know it was such a big deal until I kept encountering especially from black guys and hearing weird jokes come out of other black womens mouths. Are we okay? I see it a lot in Hollywood where light skinned mixed women are cast rather than a dark skin or even brown skin mono racial black woman. Colourism makes no sense to me, it’s just a caste system that’s all. I think that’s just rank and black people need to stop with that bs

As I get older I genuinely just realise a good portion of the world are genuinely just lunatics or unwell, the nonsense that comes out of people’s mouths regardless of race is crazy. What’s with the all the hate? If it’s not towards black people it’s Asians or Muslims or someone. Everyone and everything except the root cause/demographic

It doesn’t get to me as much cause like I said ur just a lunatic or an idiot to me if ur just being nasty based on things people cannot control

Starting acting

I have always wanted to act yet ive been to scared and feel as if my social anxiety will get the best of me. I no longer want to be someone who can’t get out my comfort zone as ive just turned 18 now and feel as if I can do things easier without always needing permission.

I’m only interested in acting in student short films and low budget things or community theatre. I will be getting headshots and going to drama classes relatively soon. I just wanted to know if that’s a good decision or if it’s still difficult in booking those projects.

As of now I have virtually no interest in trying to book big and want this to be a year or two year acting experience. Would this be worth it or a waste of time? I am going to uni but doing something completely different and currently in the midst of researching for other passion projects and career decisions.

I know it sounds like I’m not taking acting seriously but I would just like to create a good foundation first and understand what I’m going into before I make the correct decision into completely focusing on acting. I also understand that acting seems to be quite superficial and shallow,

I see a lot of the actors/actresses on my screen and they all seem to look like supermodels so realistically would I need to get toned to book parts, I know I’ll need to do some things to make myself look more conventionally attractive but I see so many actors do Botox and I feel like that’s a oxymoron and makes no sense. I also want to ask woc if any see this what theyre experiences in booking small or big roles are.

The concept of black love

Growing up especially living in the suburbs i always wanted a relationship with a white guy, I was very whitewashed and wanted to erase an identity that was stuck to me. For a while even while growing up ive dated white gays here and there and thats it. I’ve always been the weird, nerdy black girl who’s most likely undiagnosed with audhd.

So for a very long time I just haven’t fit in anywhere, people look at me weird snd have this subconscious bias of me, I’ve grown up to have very low self esteem and still battle that everyday, I look up to so many black woman especially actresses and entrepreneurs hoping to be them one day. I’m freshly 18 and ive only ever been in 1 relationship and that was with a black boy. He was a nice guy just emotionally immature and quite ignorant even for someone who’s black themselves.

I live in London so the black people i tend to meet act a bit off, whether theyre 1st to 3rd Gen. many are colourist, ignorant, texturist and have some sort of internalised racism. With black boys in London it seems that if you don’t fit a certain black girl stereotype they tend to just ignore you or assume you only date white guys. I also understand that maybe I’m just not conventionally attractive and thats the case. Black boys just don’t seem to be interested in me, I understand that many black boys date out and to my understanding and experiences like to talk down on black girls to uplift everyone else. It makes me sad as id like to one day I have a black family, I have no desire to date out but it seems that it may be the case. I don’t want to be someone who only restricts herself and I believe that love is love regardless of colour or gender. My experience is that non black guys are either racist or ignorant and I have no interest in that.

I would really like atleast one answer from black girls and women and how they deal with the concept of black love in the modern era.
