Industry insiders

A fun 'hobby' of mine is figuring out who has leverage, who are plants, and who are puppets. For example , there are certain celebrities that seem to have a clean record. Therefore, they are permitted to roast and mock the rest. The biggest example of this is ricky gervais at the golden globes. I don't think the "powers that be" have anything over him. Hence, he can roast literal billionaires. I've identified a few others. Jimmy Carr. Graham Norton. If you pay attention, they perform with a genuinen "I don't give a damn" attitude. Who do you think is part of this club?

Hustle (BBC)

Rewatching this show after 10 years. What a fantastic piece of TV this is. Stylish, smart, funny, doesn't take itself too seriously. We know the structure of the episodes, and yes, it's repetitive, but for someone like me, once I'm hooked, I love the fact that I know what to expect but not how to expect it.

Is there anybody else a fan? I must say Adrian Lester is FANTASTIC and S4 without him suffered. Otherwise, there are some absolutely fantastic episodes across every series. Doesn't it just make you fall in love with the idea of london being a metropolis for opportunity?

And look, I'm a fan of high quality drama, and theatre etc but I also watch eastenders as a guilty pleasure lol so yeah hustle is a bit corny at times but it winks at the audience rather than lectures them and I love that.

£20 - £25 - 10/17/2026 - PayPal/Bank Transfer - UK - Food/essentials

Hi,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with a small £20 loan to get me through until my next Universal Credit payment on 17 October.

I've been on UC for a few months now and have adapted to managing my money and food shopping on a very tight budget. Unfortunately, an unexpected bill this month has left me shorter than usual, and I'm trying to bridge the gap without getting into any further financial trouble.

The £20 would go towards food and a couple of basic household essentials.

I'm a first-time borrower and my Reddit account is relatively new, so I appreciate I don't have any previous borrowing history here. I'm happy to provide reasonable verification privately if required.

I can repay £25 in full on 17 October by PayPal or bank transfer.

I know £20 isn't a huge amount, but it would genuinely make things a lot easier for me over the next couple of weeks. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
