Oligodendroglioma Proton Beam Therapy

Has anyone had, or is currently having Proton Beam Therapy, instead of normal radiotherapy (also called, photons or x-rays) ?

I was very recently told that proton beam could be bad for oligodendrogliomas.

Outdoor to indoor unit hose maximum length

I want to install a split unit A/C but the distances are "large". What is the maximum distance for the connecting hose between the outdoor and indoor units?

I think the hose carries cold refrigerant gas so I suppose the longer it travels the more heat it will absorb and lose its cool.

Looking for metal light pendant ceiling rose, rectangular if possible, large and deep

I want to hang pendant lights on the ceiling, but the ceiling roses will fix into steel beams (covered with 12mm plasterboard).

I will drill into the beam and use steel screws for the ceiling rose. That is the easy part.

The difficult part is that the 1.5mm twin and earth cable, is fixed onto the steel beam, and I cannot push it in to hide it. The cable has to hide into the rose, which has to be large and deep enough.

I have looked around bur have not found anything, the deepest rectangular rose is only 25mm deep, but I need at least 40mm depth I think.

Seoul Samsung Medical Center

Has anyone been to that hospital? Where is a nice (and very near due to difficulties in walking) place to stay if you must visit? It is OK to rent a car and drive or do they drive like crazy? Any tips for visiting Seoul?

Radiation damage and side effects

An oncologist I spoke to once, sort of hinted that radiation damage is certain; it's just that the damage may occur years down the line, and well after the cancer has caused many more problems.

Are there any good stories of brain radiation not resulting in necrosis, strokes etc ?

Theoretical house selling fraud question

I just watched a YT clip where a crook can sell your house without you knowing.

A safeguard might be to have a charge on the deeds, eg a mortgage, even £1. When the crook tries to sell your house the bank would request a solicitor, and the solicitor would be obliged to verify ID and source of funds.

But what if the crook presents a fake passport as an ID? The solicitor is not an expert in detecting fake passports.

I have read that the cases of fraud are very few, but I am wondering what safeguards can one put in place.

ICP opthalmologist experts

I am struggling to find the right doctor for my ICP. I believe it is causing vision problems and more. My oncologist has told me "not my field" and my surgeon has dismissed my symptoms as "transient" or "common in some people".

However I have been suffering for a few years now and my symptoms are 100% ICP induced. I also think I might lose my vision.

I was thinking to visit an opthalmologist but how to find someone who specializes in ICP induced problems...

Has anyone here seen such an opthalmologist or similar specialist?

AC advice - 33C in the room and 33C outside

Today it got really bad, still 31.5C in and out.

I was looking at portable AC units, but the comments on Amazon invariably are, "loud" and "inneffective".

Maybe there is a good make/model you can direct me to?

Radiation to the motor cortex

Are there any people here who have undergone radiation to the motor cortex and can tell the tale?

I have exhausted all other "standard" and plenty of "non standard" treatments, over many years. Radiation is the Hail Mary. They say it works well on oligos, better than all other gliomas, but the fact we are on the motor cortex fills me with dread.

Any stories, good and bad, would be appreciated!
