This is what each side of my head looks like, I feel like I can’t see any other way out that isn’t shaving my head. It feels like I don’t see how saving what I have left would be worth more than shaving it off and starting all over. Okay so when I was pulling my eyelashes about march of last year I hadn’t started pulling my hair yet, I woudl look up things about pulling my eyelashes and would see stuff about trich but would think “that’s crazy I’d never have anything like that” and I truly believed that, anyways my boyfriend told me straight up “I think you have trichotillomania” and then I started pulling my hair because I thought “wow I already have this disease so I must understand what makes it so addicting” idk does this make sense? I never started pulling or believed that I would until he said I already had it…
I started last year and have been doing it nonstop since then my hair used to be so full and beautiful, the thing that gets me is for some reason I seem to find knots in my head….? Or like scabs and stuff on my scalp and it triggers me to pull the hairs because I’ve learned over time that the ones I pull there are the “juicy” ones with the long wet thing. I can’t seem to figure out how to get out of this loop.
I’m going to break up with my boyfriend we were long distance for almost two years, he came here and before he came I told him how I was scared to lose my virginity and do all that because I was scared because of my trauma from being used by those guys online with those kinds of addictions, anyways he came here took my virginity went home then I checked his phone and he was masturbating to porn online, not just regular porn he would go to accounts of specific girls where they just post their own nudes which hurts worse. I can’t do this anymore he tells me “ I want to be better I want to fix things” then why couldn’t he be better before why did he have to hurt me to want to be better. Anyways two years down the drain my first real love down the drain. I loved you David.
I’m F19 and my bf is M19 and before we were together he was telling me how he stopped watching porn and made himself seem like a really good person, I let him take my virginity and then he went home for a week and then when he came back I saw he had porn in his recent searches, am I being unreasonable for being upset? Okay so I have had eczema bad since I was a kid with flare ups where my skin gets so itchy and I scratch until it’s straight up raw, anyways I started scratching my scalp and then when there would be raw spots on my scalp the sensation would trigger me into pulling my hair out just on those spots and I would continue picking the scabs as well, I was just wondering if anyone else has the same trigger as me? Like the sensation of itchy or raw skin is what makes me pull, even on my arms or legs when I have raw patches I use my tweezers to pull the hairs just on and around that spot.
This is what my hair looks like right now it’s so bad I know, but I have been putting in the effort to pull less and less everyday! I was just wondering for people who have recovered, how long did it take for people who’ve had large bald patches like mine to have them not bald anymore? I’m not talking full length I’m talking just an inch or two of hair with some thickness to make my scalp less visible, I just want to have some sort of estimate so I can look forward to that mark!
