The cover to my Mesozoic Paleontology Binder I'm working on!
I live in the US. And I'm a huge fan of the Tassie Tiger, so I recently went to Tasmania! I was looking near a creek bed because I got bored and found a skull buried halfway in the mud. I found it near an old creek bed in Hobart. After I had found it, I took it back home a few days later and cleaned it up. It would be really helpful if you could help me identify it! Obviously, it could be a dingo, or a fox, or a coyote. Have a wonderful day, and thanks!
Some Dragonflies I pinned recently. I found them in my pool and dried them out, froze them and pinned them. I am new to Entomology and I hope I'm doing good, Have a wonderful day!
Got done with my 3rd pinned specimen, I got it yesterday. He was in the pool (drown). This is kinda tricky, but I'm getting the hang of it! Have a wonderful day!
I found this immature male Eastern Amberwing Dragonfly in my pool and scooped him up, he was already dead so I dried him with paper towels, a cotton swab, and time. After letting him dry I put him in the freezer for 24 hours to kill any parasites inside the specimen. After that I used labels, and pinned it. I hope I did good for my first time as I've never done this before, have a wonderful day!
(The area marked out is my name.)
I was walking around today after it rained and saw this feather! (I left it where I found it, birds ARE protected, especially raptors.)
I went to the flea market in Milton/Hurricane (West Virginia) recently, and went the the Fossil shop that is there. There is one of the booths that's set up, (they have Fossils, Jewelry, Gems, Rocks, and artifacts like Arrowheads too). I spotted this wonderful specimen for a very nice (and cheap) price. It's exceptionally well preserved too! Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day!
(SCREW AI, JUST CREATE ART AND DON'T BE LAZY!) I recently seen an AI image of Stegosaurus, while the Speculative concept of it was cool, YOU SHOULDN'T USE AI, IM YOUNG AND I DRAW BETTER THAN AI. AI SLOP IS LITERALLY EVERYWHERE NOW IT SUCKS. Anyway, hope you like MY REAL drawing, it was hard for me since I always draw carnivores, but seeing AI inspired ME to do BETTER. Have an excellent day, and don't fall for AI traps and slop!
I found this Colonial coral specimen in Cross Lanes, West Virginia (near my school) and decided to keep it. If you do know what type of coral this is, please help me ID it!
I found this recently on 18 Mile Creek, in Buffalo WV on a trip. I was easy of the area and saw this. This is an excellent specimen as it is not Coal or Shale.
Unfortunately, I wish I could give info on where it was found, but I can't as my grandmother gave this to me after she found it at a yard sale. If I had to guess, probably one of the Carolinas, I however live in WV. I don't need the genus, I just wanna know what it is.
I was taking a stroll and found this guy, I have A LOT of fossils so I have experience with most, but this stumped me. I think it MIGHT be a Dickinsonia fossil, and has never been found in West Virginia (I presume) if it isn't, please tell what it is!
I'm part of r/Weird_Birds, so I recently got a creative idea. Since the main villains of the Weird Birds series are Dromaeosaurs, I drew a Velociraptor.
I took some pictures of it outside because why not? It is a paper cut-out I drew completely with Crayola crayons.
(I do have ONE question) --- is this Paleo-accurate?
I was bored so I drew a slightly stylized Dilophosaurus wetherili. I gave it a bunch of speculative areas, like a dewlap, a resonating chamber on the throat (for vibration and gutteral sounds) and another on the crest since scientists believe that may have been located for the nostrils, although there is no fossil evidence (Yet). I gave it a proportionally huge crest because I thought it looked cool. The coloration is based on the Dilophosaurus from Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park novel because it's flashy and nice. Have a nice day, and thank you for your time!
Does anyone know what these feathers are from, if I HAD to guess, I'd think maybe some kind of Owl, or Nightjar? (They were found in Buffalo, WV)
