Has anybody been able to successfully invite a friend to Canada?

My friend and his wife would like to come visit my family at the end of the year. I was wondering if anyone has success stories with regard to the visitors visa. Thank you.

Top Movies and Limited Series on Streaming Platforms

I do a lot of movies and series binging and here are some shows and movies that I have quite enjoyed/am enjoying at the moment.

  1. Voicemails from Isabelle (Netflix): As a hopeless romantic, this was such an exceptional movie. Be prepared to cry 10minutes in but it was definitely worth it. Not a first date or Netflix and Chill kinda movie except you’re down for him/her to see you ugly cry.
  2. Imperfect Women (Apple TV): This was a nice thriller limited series. I would have you on the edge of your seat and half ready to beat the cast bat shit crazy. But I liked it all the same.
  3. The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey (Apple TV): I had seen a clip of this movie quite a number of times on TikTok and was excited to watch it. It’s a limited series and I would definitely watch anything that Samuel L. Jackson stars in. I think he showed an exceptional range in portraying his younger and older self but I would expect nothing less.
  4. SILO (Apple TV): I just completed season 1 of this series. I was a breath of fresh air as it was very unique. Although I had to pause in the first episode of season 2 because a lot of the scenes were acted in the dark and they were so difficult to see during the day.
  5. Thunderbolts (Disney)
  6. Avatar Fire and Ash (Disney)
Finally caught up on these two movies. Although it took me some days to finish Avatar but I got it done nonetheless.

Resuming Work After Maternity Leave

Hello there, I was wondering what it was like for you resuming work after maternity leave. I’m just a couple of months away from going back to work and I’m planning on brushing up on my construction workflow and detailed plans studying. However, I was wondering if there is more that I should be doing or something you wished you did before going back to work. I was barely two years in the industry working as a project coordinator first and then a field coordinator on another project so I feel like I was just beginning to learn stuff and now I’ve taken year off. My colleagues have gone on to do amazingly well this past year, with some of my closet pals getting promoted or leaving the company for a bigger role. Just wondering how to best position myself to not feel like I’m drowning out there once I resume.
