Every time my husband is a jerk, I pay myself (repost)

Reposted because I needed to acknowledge the rules of the sub.

I am a giver. My husband is a taker. Every time he says something mean, does something rude or inconsiderate, or otherwise acts like a jerk, I transfer money into my personal account. He can’t manage a bank account so he doesn’t notice.

ETA: Y’all are so cute with your little tips and advice. No, in 14 years I never once considered telling him how I feel or did anything to serve him better or improve the relationship so HE would be nice to ME and never once did I consider leaving

What would you do?

We’re buying a house that has a little bit of a drainage issue. The soil has reached up to the siding and the water has nowhere to go but down into the foundation. The basement is a Michigan style, dirt and rock with covering, cement and a knee wall and was recently redone.

The first pic is from the street showing the slope.
The remaining pics are from the other viewpoint.

Would a dry creek bed work here, or do we bite the bullet and install a retaining wall or a French drain? I’m looking for cost effective DIY solutions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Note- trees are also being removed from this area.
