My midwife’s never really mention anything about upping calories or protein during pregnancy and now that I’m in the third trimester I want to make it a goal to up my protein and try to hit 90-100g/day. I plan on asking at my next appointment if there are any other calorie/protein goals I should be hitting, but before then I thought I would ask here:

My first question is did your OB/midwife tell you anything about this? (Mine seem to be more of a “answer questions less provide information upfront” type of group)

What type of snacks/meals do you eat throughout the day to help focus on protein?

I already have low blood sugar (not drastically low but enough to feel drops throughout day) and baby is smaller so I’m hoping eating more and focusing on protein will help me feel more steady throughout the day as well as help keep baby in a healthy percentile!

I’m 30 weeks and just was told they want me to get another ultrasound as a follow up to get better images of the baby’s spine (L spine). But the last ultrasound was over 8 weeks ago. Did anyone have an experience like this or are you in the field and know what this could mean?

I’m obviously a bit stressed about it, but also think if there was a big concern for something they would have asked me to do a follow up ultrasound earlier (like within a week or two of the anatomy scan) or would have mentioned something. All they will say is they want “better imaging”

I was able to get an ultrasound early next week, but any reassurance in the meantime would be great. Does better imaging really mean just that? Or are they just saying that to not freak me out (it’s not working)

(Possibly unrelated, they want to also measure my cervix because they said it was slightly short.)
