Sophia & Talismans

Sophia & Talismans

We still haven't seen Sophia enter any building with a talisman by herself:

  • She is carried to the clinic, then leaves the building at night to cry but leaves the door open, either to let the monsters in, or to let herself back in if Kenny didn't wake up, since she wouldn't have been able to go inside with the door closed and the talisman at the door.
  • She is told by Kenny to go back to the clinic by herself when he realizes he can't help her to get glasses from the Diner, and she acts a little nervous and asks for Sara to bring her instead. Implying maybe she can't enter the clinic by herself.
  • Once they enter the Diner, Sara goes first and opens the door for her.
  • She is then asked by Kenny in the church (they don't show how they came, they only show both there already with a talisman in the door) where she wants to live, she asks for the clinic first and then after Kenny's refusal she chooses to go into Sara's place.
  • Turns out now she breaks her arm/leg and is able to be invited into the clinic again, next episode supposedly, to do what she meant to do in the first place. Maybe kill Marielle, mess with them? Idk.
  • Last "cycle" the MiY was present the talismans weren't a thing so this wasn't a problem.

For now we haven't seen any single indications that the talismans don't work and that she is able to enter buildings by herself. Touching the talisman once they are inside is normal for the monsters, they already did that in the pilot.

She can 100% save Jim

Now that we know she can bring objects into the storywalking, she can bring a talisman and put Jim really fast inside the RV and close it.

People will say, oh but the MiY doesn't care about talismans he touched one. Well no, monsters were never affected by talismans once they are invited in, like in the pilot episode, they just throw it in the floor like a normal stone. And we still haven't seen Sophia going to a place uninvited, in fact when Kenny told her to go back to the infirmary all by herself, she tried to get out of it by saying she wanted to go with Sara. So we still don't have any confirmation whatsoever that the talismans doesn't work for the monsters or the MiY.

He wasn't far away

In my opinion I think he was below in the caves and tunnels, that connect to all houses and all the town probably. When people heard banging in the floor of the RV, it was probably him below.

Others say because he was infiltrated before like Tillie or the bartender

The children left a bookmark...

So considering the theories deriving from the new episode, it seems like the symbol from the rusty kids may be a bookmark, they just have to carry a paper with the symbol to a place that allows them to storywalk into the time the children were about to get killed, and they can intervene. Probably the lighthouse or the caves?

It's been 10 years

It's been ten years since the Democrats started with their whole shtick of "you have to elect our genocidal, horrible candidates to finally get rid of the evil Trump", and Trump is still around, more fascist and with more power than ever. Ten years, and some people still haven't learned that this party is useless and has conned you.

Supporting Democrats is not Leftism or Socialism

Why do people in the US pretend like supporting democrats is the same as supporting center-left parties or even centrists parties in other countries?

Joe Biden was a far-right, nazi candidate. He did a livestreamed genocide, he increased sanctions on Venezuela, he kept all new Trump sanctions on Cuba, he couped Siria to bring an Al-Qaeda goverment, and he reshaped the US army to make them focus in the naval blockades that Trump is using now. The party STILL supports the war on Iran (while criticizing only the methods and strategy), the overthrow of Maduro and the blockade of Cubans, they have only barely moved the needle on the Palestine/Israel issue but only in words, not a single action has been taken against Israel...

The Democratic party promised they needed that corpse to get elected to finally get rid of Trump, well turns out they brought him back with more force and more fascist and with less resistance. So they are promising the same again and you still believe them?

Come on. No, supporting the democrats is not the same as supporting someone like Pedro Sanchez or Lula or whatever, they don't do 3 genocides, coups and bombing campaigns in a year like the democrats. At least Obama normalized relations with Cuba and Iran, but don't you see current democrats don't even care to do that?

Yes AOC speaks empty words against cuban sanctions, but what did she do during Biden's presidency about it? Nothing. We all know that if she was the president she would not even be as radical as Obama in that regard, she would keep the sanctions in place by spouting some nonsense about how it isn't the right time or they don't have the votes. We all know this, stop pretending. You claim John Fetterman is this MAGA evil, but in action (not in words) every single democrat is aligned with him... I'm not even american and I can see it.

I have a lighthouse theory:

https://preview.redd.it/3jwpuyskgmzg1.png?width=1462&format=png&auto=webp&s=fdf8510497a0f55d2b723bc23f392fd7322b40ad

Hear me out, so in Season 3, I think, we see Boyd repeating this scene from Season 2:

https://preview.redd.it/kncjy1ujgmzg1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=760e2c31d0b26bf891959ec51a685838e0ed1aab

And we get the incredible discovery that turning a light or a torch can make Boyd travel through time or space to another dimension into the ruins. Why did everyone forget this? I think the writers wanted to make us forget.

Because when we see Tabitha in the lighthouse in her dream we see her holding a light (so it was during the night)

https://preview.redd.it/8kn14n0hhmzg1.png?width=1472&format=png&auto=webp&s=d16b3faa2c8615879ae82242de288de47e08b6a3

But then when she tried to leave and the former Boy in White now grown ass dude in white pushed her. It was daylight and she carried no light in her hand.

https://preview.redd.it/8cldmgsdgmzg1.png?width=1828&format=png&auto=webp&s=1a6c228dc63d98a7110f56d84e3dc35bc8332421

Could it be that the characters have to repeat what Boyd did with the ruins and use light to "activate" another dimension or be able to go in some place that is not available normally, like maybe in the Lighthouse?

Could it be that during the night the light coming from the Lighthouse acts as a force that bends or changes the town or something and makes it move and thats why Boyd and Sara's tent got dragged? And that is why trees move? And that is why Boy in White pushed Tabitha so she would fall into trees at the day, but during the night, her body was "teleported" into the real world because of the effects of the Lighthouse?

This theory is only based on available trailers (not the leaked one) and episodes.

What if this is the way that kids are sacrificed? They are crushed by rocks and that is why there's so much "rock" theme in the show and why Fatima seem to be creating a rock from dirt (maybe to show what the monsters did?) and why Jade (according to the season trailer) may be falling into a pit in the caves where... maybe people are killed by others throwing rocks and crushing them?

Sometimes my friends send me IG reels and I watch them and I'm like, I don't even chuckle its so childish its like kids humor. But then I remember that when I had an IG account I would spend hours scrolling reels and watching that shit, not laughing or anything but being "entertained".

Also sometimes I see Twitter posts about politics and I'm like, why do they behave like children? I'm not american but I see there is worse sometimes, the white house account post like an edgy 14 year old and military action that destroys the planet and kills human beings is treated like internet teenager troll battles. And the worst part is that people don't even realise how stupid we have become because social media rewards this stupidity, so they accept it not as normal, but as something that has power or has an effect. Like, if you want to "be influential", you have to become a toddler, it's only natural.

I would say the toddler behaviour it doesn't really have an effect on people that are not on social media... These people get bored, I see it with my parents (who politicaly get brainwashed in a different way by scaremonging on TV). But it works on others just because social media makes people regress to being children, once you stop using it you don't find that way of being "entertaining" anymore. Look at people like Elon Musk for example, he spends his time posting like a 14 year old or other grown ass people in my country having internet battles talking like "HAHA YOU LOSE I WIN" like they are in kindergarden or something, bro you are a grown ass man with kids what are you doing. Without social media these people wouldn't be acting this way I guarantee it.

I think we have reached the "ow my balls" level of Idiocracy but we don't realise becase we are all in social media becoming childish together. But people's nature is not this. For example, look at what they did to the concept of "manhood", being a man is not whining like a little bitch for internet points and numbers on a screen, or having 200 plastic surgeries to look like a chad so that women don't leave you, it's actually being corageous and living with what you have and face the uncertainty of life and the adversity and learning from that. Movies used to portray this and men used to try to imitate this behaviour that was more positive in some aspects, or at least more mature. Now being a man is whining like an emotional teenager and becoming an attention whore on the internet.

You can see more details in the shot where they show different people in the colony house... burning a monster?

Also maybe Boyd and Kenny trying to trap Smiley into the bus?

Based on the theories floating around here that the Lake of Tears is beneath or inside the monster caves, I was rewatching S03E06, where Victor goes down there with his dad. He says, "We have to go deeper," and there were some drops of water falling from the ceiling. The monsters also threaten him to keep him down there.

What if...

The same way Martin was chained for eternity in the dungeon without being able to die, the monsters eat people or rip their guts out (or take their belongings) so they can bring them back to the Lake of Tears, where they either resurrect them or trap their souls forever?

And that is why we see the Angkhooey kids and visions of dead people in the town showing up to "ask for help" or try to guide the others to save them. They aren't dead, they're imprisoned down there by the monsters, that is why the souls linger there. That would also explain that scene in the caves with a table set like it was tea time, and the "prison" for the Angkhooey kids we see when Tabitha goes there. They probably hold people hostage down there and that is why Sara "hears them screaming"

The rest of the parties (especially the DSA) just seem to exist to add leftist aesthetics to the democratic party. Where were they when Biden kept all the new Trump sanctions on Cuba? Its obvious they don't care about advancing socialism in any way but advancing progresivism and maybe social democracy but I don't even know at this point.

I understand there are others like PSL, RCA or something like that, but they don't seem to achieve anything or have a strategy to establish themselves as something relevant.

If I had to count on those parties for the US to stop bombing my country I would be fucking dead, lets be real. Even the hippies did more to stop the empire.

Boyd scene with Ellis made me emotional and the scene with Tabitha and the kids in episode 2 of this season (trying not to spoil anything) was amazing and also made me tear up a bit. I think it was great acting.

I've watched more than 1.400 films in my life all voted in my Filmaffinity account (like imdb). I've watched a lot of series as well so I've seen all kinds of performances.

I think the acting is very good the only "issue" I would say is that is kinda irregular sometimes or not that consistent but they are great actors in my opinion.

Tabitha is great but I think people have a problem with her accent, for me she plays the hispanic mom character very well, but maybe because I'm hispanic myself, idk. The character is very realistic, same as her "no, no, no, no" reactions very common in spanish.

I think people get angry because the show releases once a week so they dissect and complain about every single detail while a show that they can binge in a day they don't even notice the acting because of the excitement. Lets be real.

Also the existence of people like Acosta (and Randall before) is vital to the show. I get the memes about hating her some are funny, but people are kinda insane if they don't realise its important to build friction in cinema.
