Skyward x 1 or Sc elite v5 for 3:30 marathon

Hi all,

Im about 80kg 6ft male looking to do a 330 - 3:45 marathon

Would you knowledgeable peeps think if new balance sc elite v5 or the hoka skyward x 1 would be best? Is the skyward a “better” race shoe for slower marathons for a slightly bigger man.

Both are now getting quite cheap in the UK.

Bath 2 tunnels marathon

Anyone ever done the Bath 2 tunnels marathon? Can anyone speak to the course in terms of elevation gain or general surface?

Cant find any info from race advert.

Will do it whatever the gain but want to set a realistic pace target. If its quite hilly then need to adjust expectations / planning.

Hey all,

Any heavier runners got any comments on the puma deviate elite 4 compared to the reported excellent for bigger peeps 3? The price difference in the Uk is negligible.
This would be for marathon distance.

Hi hive mind.

Im looking at picking up some road racing shoes after a year of trails. Im about 85kg / 190lbs

Im looking at the new balance sc elite 5. How heavy / light can you be too feel the benefits of racing foams compared to daily trainers? I have the deviate nitro 3 and find that a little hard for long miles.

I see bigger guys using things like acsics ray and completely bottoming them out.

Im also not currently very fast. Looking to drop my 5km from 20 ish to 18ish.

Just come off the back if a 100km race so want to do a nice road half / full marathon.
