We are a South west UK based TTRPG Company building towards crowdfunding our first game. Project Balor is a modern warfare tactical skirmish game reminiscent of Call of Duty and XCOM.

We are novices at game design and crowdfunding so knowing when we are actually ready to start our campaign is very difficult! Any and all advice would be massively appreciated.

Our current position is:

1)Rules are written and have had a few rounds of copy editing (approx 80 pages). We have drafts for multiple stretch goal add ons

2. Beta rules document is available for anyone who signs up for the mailing list or just uses the google docs link

3. We have 3 pieces of official art and 6 pieces in progress with an artist. We will obviously use money from the crowdfund to fund more art

4. We have 4 mock up pages at a decent standard using Affinity Publisher but we again are novices with this software

5. We have playtested the core game a fair bit but need to do more to playtest our stretch goal content

6. We do not yet have a Crowdfund trailer but upcoming artwork will be animated and we will write background music for it and do voice acting (we are also musicians/performers so this won't be too bad)

7. We have a small following on Instagram (917 followers) and Youtube (212 subscribers). We are growing this platform steadily.

8. We have a small mailing list (38 people) but are planning to add monthly TTRPG content for people who join which may grow this number a bit.

9. We don't have huge financial backing but can put it small sums to support where we can. This includes some money saved for ad spend

In essence, what else do we need to be ready to fund and what is our priority to sort first?

We recognise that our following and mailing list are small but we do feel we have the capacity to grow if we are smart!
