Fighting Fantasy: The Audio Odyssey goes live on BackerKit October 23

Back in early September we told you about Fighting Fantasy: The Audio Odyssey, our officially licensed audio adaptation of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. We hit some problems with the launch and chose to delay rather than rush it. The new date is October 23.

It's not an audiobook or a simple digital port. It's the gamebook rebuilt for your ears, an interactive audio adventure for iOS and Android where you make every choice, roll for every fight, and find your way to Zagor, if you survive.

  • Narration by Lewis Davies of the Oldhammer Fiction Podcast
  • 360-degree spatial sound design and an original score by GNOLL
  • Russ Nicholson's classic 1982 illustrations, shown in the app scene by scene
  • Made in partnership with Ian Livingstone and Marc Gascoigne

We're Sound Realms, a small Swedish team behind the revival of Steve Jackson's F.I.S.T., Lone Wolf: The Fortress of Death (with Holmgard Press) and Call of Cthulhu: Alone Against the Tide.

Follow the pre-launch page to get notified the moment we go live. Early backers make a huge difference in the first hours:

I'm Oscar, the producer, and I'll be around for questions.

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE....

There are actually two versions of the new hardback Tomb of the Golden Skull. Side on you would never tell from the spine but there is a telling sign on the cover. Surprisingly, the one on the left with Ian Livingstone type in gold, is actually the retail copy that is widely available. The one on the right with Ian Livingstone in white is the limited edition signed and numbered version with a map of South West Allansia printed to the inside of the dustjacket. I had my copy also signed by the artist, Karl Kopinski at Fighting Fantasy Fest 6.
